Clean and tidy room. The window stayed open most of time because the room was a bit warm otherwise. This meant there was some outside noise which I could have done without. Not much noise overall although I could hear people talking in the room next door and their door opening and closing in the early hours was a bit irratating. Television was adequate but not properly set to some of the channels. Good breakfast and good location with easy access to the underground. Central location with easy access to central London entertainment.”
I researched several Budget London hotels before deciding on this one. I made the right choice. For the price, all I wanted was cleanliness, heat (travel was in Jan.) and enough hot water for a decent shower. I got all this AND good service so I consider this hotel a good deal. I had a single twin room and it was small with a VERY small bathroom - but for one person who spent most of the time out and about seeing the sites - it was perfectly fine! The hotel is 5 blocks from the Bayswater underground train station - very convenient and central to many tourist sites. The staff were always friendly and helpful - the concierge even let me check my email from her computer when my pre-paid computer-time card didn't work. I also appreciated the computers in the foyer and the comfortable chairs there as well. Good for reading while waiting for other guests or chatting with other travelers! If I had to name a few disapointments there would be only a few: 1) The sink was not inside the bathroom but out in the room (that part I didn't mind) but there was just a small light over the sink which was insufficient for putting one's makeup on. 2) Breakfast was not included and I thought it was. There is a restaurant that serves bkfst downstairs but we decided to go cafes around the neighborhood which were cheaper. Suggestions if you stay here: 1)bring hangers - there were not enough supplied (that goes for most hotels though) 2) If you are a light sleeper you may want to bring earplugs as this is in an old building so there are creaks and noisy neighbors and early working maids (none of this was over the top terrible in my opinion) 3) Purchase a computer-time card for use at the foyer computers but make sure you are definitely logged out before leaving - if you don't your card may continue to run and use up your time. 4) Definitely book your room online as the listed prices AT the hotel are far more expensive than you pay online. All in all this was a good value for my money and I w”
I put my mother up in this hotel while she visited me in London for a week. The room was very comfortable and the staff were friendly and efficient. The building and reception area are quite grand - sort of a Victorian London club atmosphere (the building was allegedly built as a present for a royals mistress) which makes it a more interesting place to stay than many other hotels in the area. The only issue with the hotel is that the lifts can be a bit temperamental which may be an issue for less mobile guests. Added to the fact that it represented excellent relative value in comparison to the areas many other hotels I think this hotel can be warmly recommended.”
Although the room was small and very narrow (it felt more like a corridor than a room...), the room was clean and comfortable with a decent shower. Reception was helpful providing maps and giving instructions for locations around the city. The hotel is conveniently located in central london. No doubt I will return!”
this hotel is fine -- it is what is seems to be. the neighborhood is one of my favorites, but may not be to everyone's liking. tube stop is just a few minutes away. there are a couple of good restaurants on earl courts road nearby, as well as a M&S and two other grocery stores. hotel is clean, no a.c., but a ceiling fan, and of course, tiny rooms. i'd recommend the hotel highly for a few nights.”
