Great location. Many amenities. Service impeccable. We enjoyed our stay and highly recommend especially for families.
"Decent and affordable in Camden"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 25, 2013
The Holiday Inn Camden Lock is a no-frills hotel right near the Camden market. This is kind of a "hip" area and it's pretty interesting and definitely a change from more central London. The tube is pretty close. The hotel itself is decent, nothing fancy. Some of the fixtures and carpet were a bit worn. In the bathroom some of the caulking around the tub was cracked or missing. Also, the noise insulation is not particularly good: one evening I was able to hear another guest upstairs snoring. All of that said, for the price and location, it's a pretty good deal. Hotels in London can be ridiculously expensive, and I've certainly stayed in worse places for more money.
"Great Hotel"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 25, 2013
I was very aprehensive about staying at a Hotel that I had only seen in photos. From the moment we arrived, I was pleasantly surprised. Hotel staff young, helpful and polite. Tried to accomodate us to check in earlier than 3 pm, which we appreciated. Room perfect size. Bed really comfortable, bathroom with amazing water pressure and instantly hot. My only problem was that the bathroom door shuts close and keeps the bathroom moist, damp. We stayed at an Executive Room and the breakfast was incredible. I totally recommend this hotel, and would go back to it in a heart beat.
"Loved It!"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 25, 2013
One of the most pleasant and accommodating staffs I have ever met!. Not only is the hotel location fabulous with Tube, restaurants, and services all nearby, the complimentary wireless was a blessing. The beds (two doubles!), linens and towels (huge bath sheets; washcloths) were excellent. Will definitely use again.
"Nice but clumsy"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 25, 2013
This would be a great place if it were not for a couple of things. First, the bathroom arrangement is odd. The shower is big as a minute and every surface is hard and VERY slippery. Second, the technology used for television connections is nonfunctional. This is the first time in many trips where I could not watch movies I brought with me because of the strangeness. I have no clue what the problem was but their hotel staff was of no use. Lastly, like so many hotels, their for was good but much too expensive. There were local restaurants just steps away with comparable food for 40% less. I would like to recommend the hotel but they are too impressed with themselves. I won't be back.
"Thanks for the B'day cake and stay"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 24, 2013
The hotel was clean, friendly and very convenient for what my son and I wanted to do for his birthday while in London. The staff was very helpful in giving reviews of places we wanted to visit. (Richard/Concierge). My son arrived very late. Receptionist (Kat) left a note for my son to receive a key and also made a special note that it was his birthday the next day. The hotel sent a very nice chocolate cake. It made his day. Bellhop (Fabio) was very helpful with directions and helping me organize a ride to my onward destination in England. Overall, I stay was fantastic. The hotel was convenient to Underground and walking. The room was comfortable, clean and had very good internet reception. Top marks overall. Thanks for the nice stay Cavendish.

Not only would I stay here again, I'd go out of my way to stay here. It is literally 1/2 block away from Trafalgar Square, the literal center of London. Walking distance to Big Ben, Parliament, the eye, Picadilly Circus... truly fantastic. The price is obviously right. Don't think twice, book it.

"Good hotel but get a bigger room"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 22, 2013
What makes the Melia an excellent hotel is the staff-- friendly, helpful and professional. The breakfast is quite good. We had a classic room which was tiny-- kept bumping into things- just too small with twin beds. Other than that a good stay. It is a great place from which to access London- two tube stations within a few minutes walk. A good choice
