"Tyndale Guest House, Torquay - great place to stay"Reviewed by Susan L. of "Santa Barbara, CA" on Apr 9, 2012
The Tyndale Guest is a lovely B&B in a convenient and safe neighborhood of Torquay. It has just been redecorated and our room was comfortable and very clean. The Full English Breakfast was wonderful. Daniel and Andy, the owners, were extremely friendly and gave us great ideas of places to see. If you have time definitely take the ferry ride to Dartmouth. The town is adorable and there is a castle to explore. We are fans of pub food so we ate in a Wetherspoons pub in Torquay. The food is good and the prices are reasonable.
"Traveling with my 12 yr old Daughter through UK"Reviewed by Dean Wi of "Boulder, CO" on Mar 31, 2012
We've stayed in several different places in England this spring. The Torcroft Hotel has been the most welcoming and comfortable experience. The owners and staff made us welcomed as we arrived and the room has all we Americans need for a relaxing weekend. I highly recommend.
"Great Hotel and Staff"Reviewed by E Eckhard of "Portsmouth" on Oct 12, 2009
My girlfriend and I stayed at The Shirley for 4 nights in Sept 09. First off, what a beautiful building that has been lovingly and tastefully redecorated. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was always delicious and there was plenty of it too with lots of choice! The room was nicely decorated and although not the biggest room I’ve ever stayed in, it was big enough for our needs and far bigger than some others I’ve had to stay in. There was plenty of storage in the room as well, which can be a rarity. Overall… we had a great stay at The Shirley and can highly recommend it! Unless of course, grotty characterless hotels with unhelpful staff and horrid breakfasts are much more your style ;-)
"Excellent value"Reviewed by J Brown of "Chandlers Ford, Hampshire" on Aug 31, 2009
We were made very welcome on arrival. It was easy to get a taxi back up to the hotel with prices varying from £4.00 to £4.50. The breakfast was excellent and when we needed it before 8.45 am, Lorraine was happy to accomodate our needs. The other guests were friendly too. A quiet location with easy access to the town.
"Very warm welcome"Reviewed by K Clark of "London" on Aug 17, 2009
Anne and Jo, the owners of the guesthouse were very warm and friendly. They were very accommadating and we were impressed with the efficiency with which they organised everything. They were incredibly helpful in seeking out directions etc for us to the places we needed to go, which was also a real help. The breakfast was nice and more than enough and the location of the guesthouse was perfect for the waterfront etc. We would definitely go back again.

"Would Stay Again"Reviewed by J Sidebotham of "Peak district" on Jun 30, 2009
Myself and my wife booked this hotel on the internet day before arriving. Very easy to find coming into Torquay. Owners are very friendly and hotel was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. We had family room at top of house which was lovely with small fridge with bottled water and tray with tea/coffee/hot chocolate.
"Super Stay"Reviewed by J Weston of "Kent" on Jun 28, 2009
We have no adverse comments about this 5* , three night stopover. Everything about the condition of the room and decor, together with choices at breakfast was excellent. Little added touches of free cookies and feshmilk for inroom tea etc, fresh fruit, together with bath robes and overal pleasant approach by all staff and management made all the difference.

A wonderful stay. Having use of kitchen was a real bonus. Bed was most comfortable I've stayed in. And the weather was wonderful !! Will definitely use The Rutland B&B again.
