"AMAZING LOCATION"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 24, 2013
This hotel was just steps away from the cathedral and worth every penny. Mind you, I'm in my 20s and a fresh graduate, so I couldn't spend too much, but I'd definitely come back even if I had a bigger budget. The staff was kind and helpful.
"good location"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 13, 2013
The staff was excellent, the room was very spacious. Only complaint was the cigarette smell, left the windows open while we were our and it cleared up. About a ten minute walk from the Notre Dame Cathedral.
"Great location, Helpful Staff"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 9, 2013
It was the perfect location. We parked the car in a local garage and then enjoyed walking around town. Our room had a nice view of the river, and we were close to a good selection of restaurants and all the Christmas markets! The staff were very helpful. The bathroom was a little small, but it was clean. We would definitely stay here again.
"Convenient to train station, right price"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 6, 2013
We enjoyed this hotel very much. We received a very fine internet price for a large family room. It was right across the street from the main train station and convenient to the central sights. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The beds were quite comfortable with springs, unlike many places in Europe. The only drawbacks were the room door handle which was difficult to unlock because it needed fixing, although the staff addressed it as soon as we mentioned it, and the bathroom which was a little bit mildewy. However, those tiny details did not mar a very pleasant stay. We will definitely use this hotel on our next trip to Strasbourg.

"Le 'Must' To Stay in Le Grand Hotel"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jan 11, 2013
Le Grand Hotel in Strasbourg is a 'must' to choose when finding a place to stay in lovely Strasbourg. Located just across the central train station or 'gare', it is also close to many cafes, boutiques, shopping stores, historic sites, the Cathedral and the like. One notices that this hotel has an interior that is done in modern style, quite minimalist, nothing stuffy and imposing. Breakfast is wholesome with the usual scrambled eggs, tasty sausages, an array of freshly baked bread, yogurts of various fruity flavors, yummy fruits salad and hot coffee, tea, milk to break the fast from a long night of sleep, following a hectic day of exploring a wonderful city in this side of Alsace. The staffers are goodlooking, friendly and never short of greeting guests, 'Bon Jour'. In that note, 'Au revoir'.
"Strasbourg for Christmas Markets"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Dec 21, 2012
We chose this hotel since it was directly across from the Cathedral, and quite close to all the Christmas Markets, and still close to Petite France. Plus, we took one free night using my Hotels.com credit. Strasbourg is very lovely, especially at Christmas, and the location was superb. The only two qualifications on that was the room overlooked the Cathedral SQ, which would have been fine except for the musicians playing the same songs (not Christmas Carols) over and over from 9am until around 8pm. How many times can you listen to Lady of Spain on an accordian and trumpet? Yikes. The other qualification was the recommendation we got for dinner at Chez Yvonne. This was not a "fine" restaurant. Tables, in all 3 stories are packed side by side. VERY crowded and uncomfortable. The service was quick, thank god, but the food was second rate. We saw lots of folks from our hotel, so figure that they have a "deal" to send clients there. Not a good choice. The breakfast at the hotel, on the other hand, was excellent, even at 12 euros.

Accommodating staff. Conveniently located close to the Christmas markets. Breakfast good, but limited selection.
"Great hotel"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Nov 25, 2012
Loved this hotel! The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. They provided us with a city map for free while the tourist office charged 1 euro and had good suggestions of what to see and where to go. The room was small but very clean and nicely furnished, and the wifi was very fast. Breakfast seemed a little expensive but looked to be a nice spread, however there are many bakeries within walking distance. The train station and city center are about a 15 minute walk, but it was very scenic so we didn't mind. We were only sorry we couldn't stay longer.
