"Excellent location in Vieux Lyon"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Apr 17, 2012
The room was small but very comfortable. The staff was excellent also.
"Near Main train station"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Dec 17, 2011
Located in a more business area but near Gare de Lyon. It is a longer term stay type hotel without daily maid service and no real amenities except small in-room kitchen. Room is small and bathroom has a tub with a spray nozzel - no shower, but this i common in France. Room was clean and price was reasonable. Mass transit in the city is very good and easy to use so do not need a car.
"Nice Reasonably Priced Hotel"Reviewed by Kim J of "Chicago, IL" on Nov 16, 2011
I had a last minute change of plans and needed a Lyon hotel from Friday thru Monday. This one had availability at a price and location that worked for me. Rooms are typically small, but very clean, and hotel is in good condition. My room looked into the patio, and I could hear people talking during the day, but at night all was quiet. This is kind of in a higher end shopping district, but the Foch Metro station is right there, and close to all the rest of the Lyon sites to see. I'd stay there again gladly.

"One night in Lyon"Reviewed by Becky S. of "Lakewood, CO" on Oct 31, 2011
I was traveling all over France for two weeks, and had an early flight back from Lyon to the states, so I decided to stay one night in Lyon. This hotel was perfect for me. It's really close to the train station that takes you to and from the airport, and it's within walking distance to several beautiful areas in Lyon. I felt perfectly safe and secure with the location of the hotel and the staff were extremely nice!
"Hotel Athena Lyon Part-Dieu"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Sep 27, 2011
The staff was friendly, helpful and spoke english. The room was adequate and comfortable. Breakfast was consistent with a variety of options. The location is extremely convenient since it is directly on the square on the west entrance of the Part-Dieu train station.

"Good location, but noisy"Reviewed by David W of "Columbus, OH" on Apr 15, 2011
This was primarily a business trip. The room was very clean, and the internet worked well. One problem with the internet is that the guest rooms are limited to 200 MB per 24 hour period. So it is fine for email, but not as good for surfing (if you cannot sleep). The bed was comfortable, and the shower was very good. The hotel is away from the main tourist parts of the city, but close to the subway (which is cheap and easy to navigate). The neighborhood has a lot of night life, which is great, but can interfere with sleeping until about 2 AM. The windows are thick and soundproof, but the room will get hot if the air conditioning isn't working and you keep the windows closed. If you open them, then you will hear a lot of people talking outside until very late. It might be better to ask for a rear-facing room when you check in. The local restaurants are good for all meals, but it is more likely that you would grab something quick nearby (several options, and easy to find) and head for the subway. The hotel is on the same subway line as the main train station, so getting to it is pretty easy. One subway transfer will get you the core of the old city and the main attractions in about 10 minutes. One thing to remember about the subway is that it only takes coins (no paper money or credit cards), so be ready for that, and the rides cost a couple of Euros. The main station has a few shops above it, but they would not give change unless we bought something. As 2-star hotels go, this one was really nice, and is clean, comfortable and very well run. The price was excellent (off season), and there is a small bar downstairs. There are also several bars and restaurants all around though, so there are lots of options. It is the kind of hotel where you go to sleep, and then spend the rest of the time running around the city. But as a place to sleep and shower, it was really excellent.
"A bit small, but great location for a good price"Reviewed by Mike W of "Birmingham, AL" on Feb 23, 2011
I stayed here for a weekend in Lyon. The price was right, and the location was excellent. I was only about 150 m from Place Bellecour! the room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. the free wi-fi was a little slow, but it worked. my only complaint, the size of the bathroom. it is small, with a SMALL shower stall. While the price is great (especially during off season), I would have liked a slightly larger bathroom. If you are staying in Lyon for the weekend, you cannot beat the price and location. however, for a slightly longer stay, I would opt for a bit bigger room and bathroom. Overall, a good, clean hotel in a great location!
