1 Med Hotel was perfect for us. It is a great south of france experience. It is not a generic box hotel, it is real. We checked out and left our luggage in the luggage room all day, came back and the staff was just as nice and let us picnic in the breakfast room before we left. If you really want a taste of a place, these locally owned and operated hotels are the best!
Perfect location on the beach with a very helpful staff. The room was a bit small but not uncomfortable as it was just right for 2 people. Walking distance to many shops and restaraunts and public transportation.
"Ibis Hotel - Nice airport"

This hotel is a nice place to stay if you're flying out of the airport in Nice. It's close to the beach but quite a walk to restaurants, shops, ect. It would have been better if there had been a shuttle to the airport.
"Best value in Nice?"

The hotel is basically the 4th floor of an old Nice apartment building. The elevator is a "trip," literally. The room was fine, not 4-star luxurious but a good bed and private bathroom, not to mention a mini fridge. We had a room facing north, so the balcony overlooked a hopping Nice side street. It was a nice way to observe the bustling Nice "scene," and it got quiet enough for sleep around midnight or so. The staff was courteous and helpful. They lent us beach mats and towels. Best of all, the hotel is 200 meters from the beach! Great location, good price, relative comfort. What more do you want in a resort town during high tourist season?
