The hotel is just a minute away from railway station. The district is rather cheesy, but all in all it was safe even in the evening. It is great to plan your trips to Florence (which is just 1,5 hours away) or to other cities since the hotel is so close to the station. Yet again, you get to the place from Fiumcino airport in no time using a train. By foot it takes 20-25 minutes to get to Piazza Venezia, 25 minutes to Borghese Gallery. Using buses is convenient: to get back to the hotel, you take the one with TERMINI (name of the railway station) sign on the display. The room was good, but on Sunday night there was a lot of shouting and partying around and the concierge could not help it. Breakfast is quite good, though simple.”
My family of 4 stayed at UNA from 13 to 16Dec11. We were very impressed with the quality of the service and rooms. We were pleasantly surprised that there was such a gem within 5mins of the Rome Termini station. We would definitely return and recommend this hotel to all our friends.”
i liked this hotel a lot. i came in with low expectations, but because i was arriving by train at midnight, i chose this hotel for its close proximity to stazione Termini, the main train station. it's a short block and a half away from the train, a very very short walk, even at midnight in january. i got a clean, quiet room, the staff was very helpful and friendly, and breakfast was included in my rate (a buffet style, more than just a muffin---plenty to eat; and that's a good thing in italy, where breakfast for americans can be a challenge---it's hard to find good, cheap things to eat or breakfast in italy, generally the locals have coffee and a bread and that's it.). the hotel neighborhood isn't all that exciting at night, but it's close to the subway and close to the colosseum and trevi fountain and piazza venezia, and i walked almost everywhere, taking the subway only at night when it was cold. this hotel exceeded my expectations.”
GOOD: Hotel is located diagonally across the central station. Less than 5 minutes walk. It is easy for travel especially when you need to lug the luggage with 4 teen kids. Hotel room was good. SUGGESTION: Breakfast spread was generally good for the western but it will be nice if they can add some asian food in there as 50% of the tourist we see at the breakfast lounge are asians. Still, we loves the breakfast. BAD: There is a particular reception staff that refuse to open his mouth each time we ask him for information. His reply was vague and reluctant. He will not look at his computer while we spoke and even when he reply. We then stand at a corner to observe twice and realize that he spoke in this manner to the asians only. GENERAL: The rest of the staffs were good. I hope this rotten apple won't spoil the image of this hotel. We highly recommend this hotel. Pray that you asians will not be served by him.”
The hotel was about 300 yards from Termini (the main train station), which was also where both metro lines crossed. Nice hotel, older but about as renovated as you could expect. Staff was very laid back but helpful. Great breakfast buffet (as far as breakfast buffets go anyway). For Euro standards the rooms were a good size, the bathroom too. Ive stayed in teeny tiny ones. The beds were a little hard. I would stay there again.”
Great location two blocks from Termini station. Very nice breakfast. Attractive ground floor lounge. Nice rooftop garden for bar. Room was typically small by American standards, but nicely decorated. Cable TV was a disappointment - no English language channels, e.g., CNN World or BBC World. Would definitely stay again. Staff very helpful.”
Realy enjoyed ou stay at this hotel, very very close to station, so very convenient for transfer from airport and sightseeing bus. Very clean and friendly, breakfast great, rooms lovely, would recomend taking a travel kettle though, Rome hotels don,t seem to provide coffee making facilities ( need my regular caffeine fix ;-) ) this type of Hotel in London would have cost at least double what we paid, so all in all we were highly satisfied. Would also like to recomend, if planning on using the open top tour bus, book with expedia before you go, you will save about 7 euros on one ticket, love a bargain! have fun!”
Had to check in with another hotel 2 blocks away, which I found a bit strange. The Hotel Termini was within walking distance (2 blocks) to the train station, which was helpful. From the train station we were able to catch the bus and get to most anywhere we wanted. Also within walking distance were some reasonably priced restaurants with good pasta dishes and pizza.”
Hotel Genova was a great place to stay, especially that it was close to trains, buses, and even walking distance to major attractions. Good restaurants are also very close if you don't feel like walking too far. I truly enjoyed my stay here, the only complaint however is that there is no internet service in the room (you have to be in lobby for connection and even then, the connection wasn't too great). Hotel staff were great, breakfast was fine (though i'm not too particular on what i get for bkfst just give me a good cup of coffee, which they had:) We walked and took mass transit everywhere we went and was perfect (staff really, really helpful). Rooms were clean and not noisy at all. Being near Termini was fine for me too. For the price this was perfect; if I had more money to spend then i would probably choose to be closer to piazza navona.”
This was a surprisingly nice place for my family. Franco was a delight - helping us with all kinds of things, from showing us the best ways to tour Rome, to making suggestions for where to find good meals. He even provided us with a phone to call America, for free. All in all, I'd highly recommend his hotel.”
the room was very basic and clean. the bathroom was small with a shower-head over the toilet, but the water pressure was great and the water was hot. Also the location was great and i felt very safe. It was an easy walk to the metro, bus, restaurants and close to great sites. we did not opt for the breakfast but instead went to a nearby supermarket and bought breakfast instead.”
Quaint hotel just a block from Roma Termini. Only disappointment was the hotel Wifi was not working, and the staff was unable to fix this the 2 days we were there. But they let us use their counter's PC internet which was working.”
The hotel is conveniently located for Termini, and a full breakfast is served. The breakfast is acceptable if not particularly exciting. The room was clean, but the furnishings could use some sprucing up; they looked quite tired, and the towel rack in the bathroom was about to fall off the wall. Also, the lighting in the room is pretty dim. However, the hotel is relatively quiet, and for smokers, there is a smoking area with a bench by the door away from the street. Overall, it was acceptable, but the price was a little high for the fixtures and furnishings.”
The hotel is well positioned near all amenities just 5 min. away from Roma Termini and the Metro. It is clean and confortable and the hotel staff very kind and well disposed to help. Highly recommandable.”
the location is great... perfect for single. clean”
Close to the Central station and a good start-point for exploring the city, chip, but clean hotel, breakfast is included. Polite welcoming staff, good service. Very good hotel, if you're comfortable with simplicity.”
If you are looking for a luxurious getaway in the Eternal City you should keep looking. However, if you are looking for an inexpensive, simple room than this would be a good pick. The location is safe. it is located in a building that is occupied by another hotel and some other offices. The guy that was in charge was very nice. The breakfast is small and simple. The rooms are small and simple. The location is great, very close to the main train station. I can't stress enough... this is a bare-bones experience. If was perfect for someone like me who is looking for something between a hostel and a fancy hotel.”
Overall the hotel is fine. I get where some of the reviews can be negative but you have to understand what European hotels are like. They are repainting the rooms and they are nice but if you happen to get a room that hasn't been repainted it night seem dingy. The only thing is the beds are hard. The Breakfast is good and I would definately stay here again.”
Rome’s central train station, Termini is the entry point to the city from Fiumicino Airport, and is an impressive modern architectural sight. Between here and glamorous Via Veneto, there are several interesting places to visit. The Palazzo Barberini is a superb baroque palace, the Terme di Diocleziano was the city’s largest bath complex and the Church of Santa Maria della Concezione is remarkable for its Capuchin monks’ crypt.
