The Mercure Hotel in Burgos was a comfortable one night stay. The location was ok--close enough to the center and with convenient parking. Staff was helpful, but not overly friendly. Breakfast was enjoyable and served in the lovely adjacent restaurant. Overall, it was a fine stay, though not the **** service I was expecting.

"great location at the right price"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Sep 15, 2010
The Melia Fernan Gonzalez was the right choice, a five-minute walk to the fabled Cathedral and just a little longer to Plaza Mayor and the lively tapas district. Pretty easy to find and to get back to the highway, in case you are driving. Room was large and nicely decorated, in a traditional Spanish pattern; service was more than attentive, parking a bit tight, but that is not uncommon in Europe. All at the right price. My only complain would be the outdated bathroom, because of the clogged draining, not because of its appearance; if you fancy the latest in design you must be prepared to pay accordingly, and anyway who travels to Burgos, or to historic sites for that matter for the sake of enjoying the latest trend in toilets and sinks?
