"Unbelievably Great Service"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Stayed for a five night family vacation. Our room for three was very nice with a king bed and sofa bed. Efficiency kitchen with dishes and silverware and cookware. Compact refrigerator. Very well located in Eixample neighborhood one block from metro station. Easy walk to many restaurants and the Passieg Gracia or upper part of the Rambla Cataluna. However the BEST was the service of the front desk. Whatever the request they were ceaseless in their efforts to please and accommodate. Information, directions, recommendations for eating and transportation, ticketing. The staff could not do enough for us. This is service that is rare to find in the amenities industry: a true personal touch. My family can heartily recommend the Acacia Suites for a Barcelona vacation. The only negative for some is that it is not located directly on Plaza Cataluna or the Rambla but if you want a quieter neighborhood, with a local feel it is a very nice place.
"Good news and bad news"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Apr 30, 2012
While the flat was very nice, the process of getting into it was a nightmare. We had to go to have our taxi take us to a hard to find office to sign a contract and get the key and then go to the flat that was located a number of blocks away. Once we got to the building, the front door of the building was locked and we couldn't figure out how to get in since we had received no instructions about scanning our key on a side pad. When we finally got into the building, we couldn't get the door to our flat opened. It took 10 minutes. Since we weren't allowed a late checkout (2 hours) , we had to drag our luggage back to the office a half mile away for them to store it. The flat itself was very nice, roomy and clean. The kitchen was fully stocked but 1 nights worth of coffee would have sure been nice. Nice place but not worth the hassle.

"Apt Barcelona Gothic Cathedral - centrally located"Reviewed by Mary H of "Houston, TX" on Apr 11, 2012
We booked this apartment because we had three people and it was close to 2 metro stations - Jaume I and Liceu - 10 min walks. The price was reasonable as well. They did require a 200 euro deposit even if room was paid for - they promptly gave it back at the end. The hosts were very welcoming allowing us early entry on our arrival day and permitted us to store our luggage on our last day after check out. The free wifi was so helpful. We walked with our rolling luggage from the metro station having taken the train from the airport to the subway then to the apartment (in the rain - the hard part was up and down stairs in the subway). We also walked with our luggage to the cruise port from the apartment - easier. Saved on taxi fares. Noisy garbage truck each night about 11pm, but we'd stay there again - nice to have a kitchen!

This was a nice hotel for the price. The bed was not very comfortable, but the room was clean and spacious. The website for the hotel said that there was wifi, and the people at the desk (who didn't really speak much English, but were very nice) gave us the password and info, but it didn't really work. Overall, this was a good experience.
