The hotel staff was very helpful and spoke perfect English except for Sunday; there was one man at the desk all day and evening and he spoke no English. The others were very helpful with every request. The buffet breakfast was very good, as was service. They have two computers available for guests with wifi and that was helpful to us but they were sometimes slow. Within a few blocks were many small shops, a city park, several cathedrals, a double-decker tour bus for city tours, the tourist bureau, and the municipal market - an amazing place to shop with three levels of outstanding produce, as well as meat. Prices are already cheap but if you buy a lot you can bargain. The only drawback for the hotel was the beds - they were too hard for us - and there was a television but with only one channel that ran a loop of CSI programs, nothing else. Overall, I would recommend the hotel as a good one.

My visit Cuenca was enhanced by my stay at the Hotel Milan. My room's balcony overlooked the Plaza del San Francisco with the hills of Banos in the background. It is centrally located for strolling through the center of town only 2 blocks from the city's main Cathedral. The staff catered to every need ( internet use, assisting with baggage supervision after checkout while awaiting an evening flight to Quito, and sharing intimate knowledge of the sights, restaurants, events to see in town. For the price it was an unbelievable bargain.

Nice hotel, great rates, clean rooms. There is no A/C, so rooms can get stuffy. Walking distance to all major sights in CUenca. Hotel food was OK, but nothing to write home about.

This is our second stay at this hotel. We love it here and would not stay at any other hotel in Cuenca! Staff and owner are always smiling, customer service is incredible....It feels like home from the day we arrive until we leave. Thank you Monica, Claudia and the rest of your amazing staff. We can't wait to return!!
