"Excellent value for the price"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Apr 24, 2012
The room was very clean. Good location, close to transportation in any direction. No amenities, very basic but clean, mostly quiet. ( that depends on the other guests more than the hotel) Helpful staff. Breakfast ok but a bit expensive at 8 euros, not a big selection of foods but ok if you don't want to go looking for breakfast.

"Remodeled older hotel away from center"Reviewed by Peter M of "San Jose, CA" on Oct 9, 2011
We drove to Vienna and wanted to avoid the city center. Hotel had small clean rooms with updated furniture and fixtures. Very convenient for trolley to center. Staff very friendly and helpful. Very good breakfast. Street parking only which is a little difficult but not too bad in first week of October. Mixed business and residential area.

"Convenient, reasonable, basic hostel for all ages"Reviewed by Joe F of "Baltimore, MD" on Sep 8, 2011
The Red Carpet was convenient to U-bahn & tram lines & a reasonable walk from Vienna's Westbahnhof, even with baggage in the rain at night, Most popular attractions are a 20-minute walk down nearby Mariahilferstrasse to the Innere Stadt. The young multicultural and multilingual staff was friendly and helpful, (even to someone old enough to be their granddad). My accommodation (a 3-bed room rented as an en-suite single) was student-dorm basic, with a small refrigerator for self-caterers but no other outlet I could find (I had to disconnect the fridge to recharge electronics). The breakfast buffet (cold cuts, cereal, fruit, rolls, cakes, coffee & tea) was good value. WiFi access was limited to the lobby and the adjacent bar, which was a decent place to knock back a couple on a rainy evening. A ll in all a reasonably-priced choice at the price for those who don't mind the distance to the main sights.

We used the room very little as we were there to sight see. It was clean and wonderful for our needs. Very plain but very comfortable. Would definitely stay again. Would recommend it to others.

Terminus Vienna was within walking distance of the inner city and the subway system. Everything was very modern and clean and the front staff were awesome! We would definitely go again!

"Excellent value and location"Reviewed by Eva A of "Indiana" on Nov 29, 2010
I was extremely pleased with City Rooms. If you're looking for a clean room and convenient location that makes you feel like you live in the city, this hotel is great. The photos on the City Rooms site are representative of what you'll get. Furnishings in the small rooms are modern, and the price (which includes breakfast and Internet) can't be beat. The surrounding neighborhood, while largely residential, is right near a shopping street where you can find all the essentials as well as welcoming neighborhood hangouts. The Josefstadt location is ideal in terms of sightseeing--it's well within walking distance of the Ring and Innere Stadt and also has convenient public transportation for those times you don't feel like being on your feet. Overall, City Rooms is a great basic hotel (though you may not think it from the entryway, which is just OK though pretty typical, as the hotel is located above the ground floor of a multi-use building). It's not for those who need amenities such as a spacious lobby or large rooms. But for those who plan on being out and about much of the day and are looking for a clean room in a good neighborhood with a convenient location for sightseeing, City Rooms is a very good choice.
"Dormatory (Not Really 1.5 Stars) but Good Value"Reviewed by D2 of "Chicago" on Sep 14, 2009
Very good location in nice neighborhood. Approximately 1K walk to edge of city center and very convenient public transportation access. This is good value dormatory with very clean shared dorm style restrooms with hot showers. The bath towels were flimsy. Comfortable twin beds with down duvet. Our room opened to a very pleasant and quiet courtyard. We're middle aged and the "kids" were up partying half of the night. I can sleep through anything, so was amused and reminiscent of all the raucous fun I had in my 20s. We were able to access free (unsecure) wireless. Staff was very nice, helpful and spoke fluent English. Breakfast is included but serviced in "sister" hotel across the street. Breakfast was typical European continental breakfast and good but not great. Coffee was very good. There is a small cafe (with outdoor seating) at the corner. The omelets were wonderful if you are looking for an American style breakfast. They also serve alcohol and are also open. Vienna is very expense, so if you are on a shoe-string and not planning to hang out in your room, I recommend Guesthouse Pfeilgasse.
