The location could not be any better. We could see the Dom from our window! The hotel pub was perfect, the room was modern and clean, and the restaurant had the best breakfast I've ever seen! The room was small, but hey, this is Europe, not the US. Restaurants, shops, and museums (including the chocolate museum) were all walkable. We are def. going to stay there again!

"In the heart of Cologne. A short walk to trains."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 24, 2013
It was a wonderful stay. The service industry in Germany varies greatly from that in the US. Keep your expectations in check. The hotel was very close to the Dom, train station, and several attractions we could simply walk to. Over all, it was a good value for this time of year.

It was nice. A little outside of Koln but not enough to be annoying.
"Excelent Service"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 19, 2013
The front staff was very helful in correcting the issues with my reservation and gave me a room upgrade for my trouble. The hotel porter gave me great recomendations on pubs to visit. The breakfast staff was more than helpful. Great location also.
"Cologne carnival"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 14, 2013
We chose this hotel as we were not sure whether the inner city would be accessible by car during the carnival (it wasn't). This hotel is across the river from the city - about 30 minutes on foot to the Cathedral. The facilities were excellent - particularly the pool/spa complex. The pool is long enough to swima few strokes and the sauna, steam bath and jacuzzi were enjoyable. The buffet breakfast was copious and with a wide choice,
"Easy walk to the urban rail and other transport"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 1, 2013
Hotel staff served my purpose, the included breakfast had a nice selection of choices. Bed was a little hard and bathroom small, but were clean and well stocked. Would suggest asking for a room on the west side of the building...as rooms on the east have a lot of road noise as well as pedestrian traffic walking back from the bar next door. One of the biggest drawbacks of the hotel was not enough evening food choices nearby and cost of taxi to downtown was 15-20 euros.

Excellent experience. Breakfast, service, location, condition. Close to but not in the middle of center city. Convenient to train station, Dom, central city shopping area. A boutique hotel family run. Due to layout, as in all such older small building hotels, the elevator is small and does not stop at every floor because some are half stops. But it is absolutely no problem. Showers were hot and water pressure good. In room telephone did not work. The management attempted a solution for a business conference call.
