Exactly what I needed in a hotel for my trip. Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and not too small. I would stay here again

"Excellent location, comfortable room"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jan 29, 2013
The aletto Kudamm Hotel and Hostel should get a 6 for location on the Hotels.com 5 point scale. It is right at the Zoo station which the X09 bus comes straight to from Teagle Airport. This makes it an excellent choice while Teagle still operates. Once the new Brandenburg Airport opens, I anticipate that it will continue to be an excellent location if they have S-bahn or U-bahn service from Brandenburg. This is because the Zoo station caters to both S-bahn and U-bahn lines. It is very convenient for restaurants and shops around the station, including a supermarket. There are some things worth seeing close to the Zoo station, but everything else is within a very few minutes on the S-bahn and U-bahn. It is an added bonus to have a bus terminus there. My room was plane, clean and comfortable, although a little cool when I walked in there before the heat kicked in. Also the free internet in the lobby worked well and easily. If you want wifi in your room you have to pay. I got the impression this hotel is popular with groups, probably because it is clearly a good deal in Berlin. If that is a problem for you, avoid it. The aletto Kudamm is a hotel I will not hesitate to stay in again.
"Great hotel for a good price"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Dec 29, 2012
I booked this hotel for a quick two-night stay in Berlin before taking the train to Prague. The main train station is with walking distance or a quick two-stop bus trip in the case of snow. : ) Within walking distance to many of the major sites/restaurants (even in snow)--Bradenburg Gate is just around the corner! Rooms are as pictured online so I was happy there were no surprises, although next time I would upgrade to a room with a private bath. Shared bath was not an issue with 2 showers and 2 bathrooms--just a little longer walk than I liked in the middle of the night. The front desk staff were extremely helpful and provided excellent directions in English. I would definitely recommend this hotel for its reasonable rate, artistic charm and as a base for exploring the city, knowing you had a warm, clean place to camp for the night.

"Atmospheric budget lodging on the Kudamm"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Sep 9, 2012
I was pleasantly surprised to find a hotel with real character for such a bargain price. It is located in one of the most upscale areas in Berlin, yet had a nice casual feel. Breakfasts were a serviceable buffet in busy yet pleasant dining rooms. Clientele was elderly parties of Germans mixed with American tourists young and old. The theme is Berlin stars of stage and screen in the golden age, and a love of film and theater did seem to permeate the goings-on - there were leaflets and free season previews in the lobby which told you everything you needed to know if you wanted to see a performance. There were a couple of times when you were made aware of why the budget price was what it was - the safe in my room was useless, it would only take obsolete Deutsche Marks, and the showers took some getting used to (my deal was shared bathrooms, which were clean if outmoded and a bit cramped). But those were minor drawbacks if you were traveling light, flexible and solo like I was, and don't mind being somewhat apart from the action (and the U-Bahn - by Berlin standards, the stations were a relatively long walk away). I was very satisfied with my choice.
"Convenient, Cozy, Clean"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Sep 1, 2012
It was super easy to grab breakfast in the neighborhood and hop on the S-Bahn to get anywhere.
"Close to my business destinations"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Aug 17, 2012
That was our 2nd time w/in 3 months that we stayed there. We were impressed the first time and even more so now. The owners are very accommodating, breakfast great, and the bus station is right at the front while the subway is just a 5 minute walk away. There is also a great restaurant right next door, Villa del Sol.
