"Ok but small rooms"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jan 21, 2013
Good location. Good price for area. Service us professional. Did not try the breakfast as there are lots of cares in the area. Internet is slow but works. You must pay extra for it. The only negative is that t he rooms are tiny! However for the price you can't really complain
"Absolutely the best hotel I've ever stayed"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jan 8, 2013
The hotel is centrally located in the heart of Berlin. It is in walking distance to most major tourist attractions. There are abundant restaurants in nearby area. The hotel itself is a piece of modern art. The lobby has a 4 story aquarium. The room is very spacious and furniture are stylish and modern. The breakfast is great and I enjoyed my stay very much. Will come back to it next time I visit Berlin.

"Convenient, clean and spacious, close to museums."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jan 7, 2013
The hotel is at a quieter corner off a main street. Only 1 block away from subway station. You can walk up to some major shopping district in 10 minutes. On the other side, it is also 10 minute walk away from museums like Checkpoint Charlie, Hitler's Bunker and Topography is Terror - former SS headquarter. It is also 10 minute walk away from Museum Island. Room is spacious. It is about the standard size in US. It large in Europe standard. Breakfast is good, but a little bit pricy at 21 Euro's. But you can easily find places to eat nearby. The hotel is a bit old. Furniture and carpet do need some face lift. But room is otherwise clean and comfortable.
"Welcome to the Center of Berlin; Wittenbergplatz.!"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jan 4, 2013
Perfect for exploring Berlin; next to Wittenbergplatz with easy going Metro (U-bahn) and the famous KaDaWe. Also in Wittenbergplatz there is an EXCHANGE; looks like a jewelry shop but they change Dollars to Euros with cero commission at market rate; perfect.! Hotel lobby is accomodating, computer with internet for 3 euro, couple of restaurants-bars around it with german flair, and the room is clean, simple and the rates are cheap for long trips around Europe so you can beat the dollar-euro change. Carpet and doors look a little beat up because of years of travelling willberrys in buses but it does the job. Clean bathroom and hot water. We had a family emergency, internet was not working; so they were so nice, they let me use their reception check-in computer. It's NOT the Sheraton, but for the price and location; it does the JOB for me.
"An interesting and well run hotel in Berlin"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Dec 11, 2012
This is the second time I have stayed here this year. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Especially Janine!!! The location is a bit out of the center put charming nonetheless. I will definately stay there again when my travels bring me to Berlin
"Quiet tho close to airport"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Dec 7, 2012
Night staff wasn't particularly friendly, but the room was nice, albeit spartan, for a one night stay before our flight the next morning at Tegel. There's a Kaufman store across the street with a bakery and meat counter, so you can get breakfast easily without eating the standard buffet at the hotel. Parking on the street is minimal, but there is free parking behind the hotel if you get in early enough. There's wifi, but I didn't use it (surcharge 5E for 2hours). Rooms are small, but bed was double and comfy, standard German bathroom.
"Close to the sights, but overpriced"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Dec 3, 2012
The Ellington Hotel is clean and the staff is helpful, but it is overpriced. It is within walking distance of the KaDeWe shopping center and other great attractions. The surrounding neighborhood was safe. Unfortunately, I was disappointed by the hotel's policy to charge additional fees for, well, everything. There is a coin-operated Internet kiosk in the lobby. The WIFI in your room will cost you a pretty penny every day. And when I called the front desk to ask for a bowl and a spoon to eat some cereal I bought from a market, they tried to charge me for it too! The breakfast buffet is extremely overpriced. For nearly 30 euros I expected a far more substantial spread than what was offered. They had only yogurt, cereals and a selection of cold meats and breads. One would assume that a winter breakfast in frosty Berlin would have more hot fare. I made the best of the omelet station, since it was the only cooked food available for breakfast. On my next trip to Berlin I will stay somewhere else, most likely.
"Nice little kitchen! Super quiet room"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Dec 1, 2012
This quiet hotel is tucked in a neighborhood, a 5-minute walk to the nearest tram. Staff was friendly and helpful with good English and seem to know the neighborhood well. Bathrooms had a tub! Very comfortable stay and as I said, super quiet and dark for sleeping.
