"Excellent choice for those traveling by automobile"

I had a very pleasant 2-day stay at this hotel. There is very ample .parking and it is a short bus ride from the main part of Karlovy Vary. I would not describe it as walking distance to town, at least not for most people, because it is on the side of a steep hill overlooking the town. True, you could walk down a series of steps and then back up, but that would be quite a hike. Not to worry: All guests receive a little white card which entitle the holder to free bus rides on the two buses that go from the main street at the hotel to the main bus station. From there it is a short walk to the main drag in Karlovy Vary. The bed was quite comfortable, which is an important point anywhere in the Czech Republic. Most Czech beds are astonishingly hard and very uncomfortable. Here the bed was normal and very comfortable. The breakfast was hearty, and your room rate includes free use of the sauna and whirlpool, which were open from 4PM to 8PM, a great way to wind down after a brisk walkabout in town. There is essentially nothing in the immediate vicinity of the hotel, so you must use its facilities or go into town. I did not find this to be a problem as Karlovy Vary is quite small and easy to navigate. Since I had a car, a more central location would have been less, not more, convenient.
"Perfect Location, Friendly Staff"

Located just a minute walk to the main colonnade for the drinking cure which is good since you have to have it before breakfast each morning. Also lots of great restaurants, the theatre and several spas very close. The Castle Spa is just a 3 minute walk up a small hill and great if you want to do just an afternoon at the pool or if you want to do a whole week or more. Great pool, sauna, Japanese stone pool, etc and it includes a few treatments. The staff at the hotel is very friendly and helpful and make you feel comfortable and the place is extremely clean. Breakfast is good with cold meats/cheese, cereal, yogurt, fresh bread and sometimes hot sausages and oatmeal or egg. If you want to do a massage or pedicure/manicure as well as other treatments go to the Spa With Love which is on the 1st floor and Lenka the Massage Therapist is wonderful. They have free wifi but if you need to do work each day request a lower floor as the signal quality is not great and above 2nd floor it may not reach you. If you only have to do a few minutes checking email each day there is a comfortable chair on the landing of the 2nd floor and you can get a good signal there. The hotel is easy to reach from the train station or the bus station in Karlovy Vary by taking the Number 2 bus to NÁRODNÍ DIVADLO (the last stop in the town center across from the theatre "Divadlo" in Czech.) It's only 25 Czech Kronas, about $1.25 and the bus driver will make change for you.
This hotel was exceptionally clean and the staff were very helpful. Not a luxury hotel but a good value for the money. (The towels though were rough, as if they were air dried, a little time in a dryer would be nice) The only concern, and surprise was that in order to keep our reservation we had to arrive by 7PM. There was no one at the desk after 7PM! This was not mentioned and had we not called ahead we would have been unable to stay at this hotel. Overall, we would recommend this hotel but ... make sure you arrive by 7PM!
