"Great hotel for great value in Bocagrande"

The hotel was beautiful and clean, from the lobby to the dining hall to the rooms. My friends were staying at a more expensive hotel around the corner, but had a far worse experience. They couldn't even get wi-fi, whereas Amirante had high quality service and amenities all around.
"Nice new hotel"

The hotel is new and the finishes are good for the price, I first had a tiny room and when I complained the upgraded me to a much nicer room for the same price. The pool is poorly located as you only get sun in the morning and late afternoon. This hotel is located on a busy street but again for the price I was happy.
"San Diego neighborhood, an ideal location"

Hotel Bantu is a lovely, graciously designed boutique hotel in the perfect location. Walking distance to all the historic attractions and wonderful restaurants but far enough from the fray to allow us a good night's sleep and peaceful afternoons on the roof deck that features a small but refreshing pool. The rooms were well appointed and spotless and the beds were heavenly. We were surprised that breakfast wasn't included in the rate and, although it wasn't expensive, it was not appealing like what we were expecting from other travelers' accounts of their Cartagena hotel stays with abundant inclusive buffet breakfasts. The only annoyance during our stay was the construction (loud demo and stone cutting) in the hotel kitchen that woke us every morning at 7:30 am; the desk clerk assured us that the work would only last one day; it lasted , except for siesta, our entire stay.
"Affordable place to stay"

Not a luxury hotel, but this hotel was fine for our two night stay in Cartagena. The bathroom was a bit tight and the AC did not get the room as cool as I would have liked, but otherwise I had no complaints. It's cheap cab ride to the old city and walking distance to the beach on Bocagrande.

As an American who had never traveled to Cartegena Colombia, I was mostly impressed with all the security and the politeness of the people there, especially at the hotel. Very Professional from the cleaning services of the room to the waiter staff at breakfeast to the front desk and Concierge and the Guards in the lobby and front of hotel were very helpful for taxis, safety and directions.. Keep in mind it IS centrally located and during high season it can be busy and noisy with construction. But we slept peacefully every night. Floor 9 with a nice view of the ocean.

this is a very nice hotel, clean and well maintained. The pools are great, and the beach area is really nice without all the vendors that you usually find at Bocagrande, my kids enjoyed it very much. The staff is really friendly and helpful. The only negative comment is the food, this was a trip with kids (under 4) so it was easier to find them something from the trattoria, while we (parents) ate from the buffet (i like italian but not on a town that it's known for its seafood) also the food at the buffet while underseasoned at times, offered more varieties; but 2 days in a row the buffet was closed, and the only other options were the very nice (but so not appropritate for a hyper 2yo) Nativo or the grill,,so we were just left with the italian option. I wish the hotel would have announced earlier in the day that the buffet wasnt going to be open so we could have made plans in town. If my kids were a bit older I would have gone to one of the other restarants,,they looked very nice. Our experience overall was really good, we are going back.
