depends on what you are there for.. if you go there for the beach, this is an excellent location. (wish it was cheaper) Its next to the beach. If you are there for the city life, bus comes every 30 mins to the city. I was there for only 2 nites . Service was poor. receptionist is so cold. Got to leave early morning , no bill was prepared, no concrete instructions what time , where you will be picked up for your hotel transfer which is by the way over the top...one way to the airport is $35??? highway rubbery. No free internet, does not offer alternate tours but the most expensive ones. Suggestion, finalize your tours online. Getting it in australia expecially when you do not have the luxury of time is overwhelming. I went to cairns for 2 things, the beach and the Great BarrierReef. 3 days 2 nites was ok for me. Shopping mall is far (15 mins walk) you would think 15 mins is short walk???...it was quiet a walk. There are restaurants around but each meal costs at least 20AUD.
