The value/price ratio is excellent. The rom is large and clean. Very fun area with local endless cheap eats. will definitely stay there for short trips. The facility is functional, by no means fancy.

"Great for sightseeing"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Sep 22, 2012
It was a good location to see a lot of sights in Beijing
"Good location, helpful staff"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Aug 6, 2012
Overall, I would recommend this hotel for tourists who want to stay at a nice hotel but not one of the big American chains. The rooms are small but very nice (standard size for Beijing). The breakfast buffet is great with a mix of American and Chinese dishes. If you don't speak the language, be sure to check in with the hotel concierge first to get a map and a card that lists each big tourist destination in Chinese characters. We didn't get this on the first day and had a hard time with taxis.
"Nice classic hotel"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Aug 5, 2012
Qian Men Jian Guo was well located for what I wanted to do. It's a classic hotel that has been renovated. Its foreign currency exchange won't cash traveler's cheques (they say it has something to do with their license from the Bank of China). The toilet tank needed a new rubber flapper in the bottom; it ran continuously, making noise and wasting water. A light bulb in a bed lamp was burned out. I reported both to management and had a personal e-mail from the manager saying those things would be attended to. Breakfast was very good with lots of choices, and the staff were pleasant and friendly. They spoke passable English, although my ability to speak Chinese was helpful.

Overall hotel was very good, however it's not the best location for sight seeing. Restaurants / breakfast is very expensive, while food is very average.
"Good hotel but no airport shuttle"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jun 8, 2012
The hotel is new, clean and very comfortable. Breakfast is also included. The problem is getting to and from the airport. There is no shuttle service and taxis can be difficult to get from this location. I arrived late into PEK and was overcharged by a taxi driver who "couldn't find" the hotel. Hotels.com and the hotel should put their name, address and directions in Chinese so it can be printed and given to the taxi driver.
