"Nice hotel"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 1, 2013
My comments are pretty much the same as everyone else's. The hotel is fine. It's in a convenient location to the King's Cross train station, it's rents at a fair price, and the neighborhood, while a little on the seedy side, does have a unique charm that makes it easy to overlook the former. I booked for four nights but a severe storm blew in while I was staying causing water damage to the building and setting off the fire alarms. For the safety of all the guest they transfered us to another hotel. My first night staying there was Australia Day and some of the guest came home from the festivities a little tipsy and very loud, I mean VERY loud. I can't blame the Hotel for the rudeness of their guest. What I'm trying to get across is the walls are very thin and drunken youths in the hallway made for a sleepless night. Overall I really liked the Lido Suites and if I find my self in Sydney I would consider staying there again.

Well, the size of the room was small (kept running into sharp edges) but my hubby & I were happy for the cozy feel (since we hadn't seen each other in months) and we had everything we needed - bed, bathroom (but only shower - no tub), seating, kitchenette, closet. If we were to return to Sydney, we'd choose a nicer neighborhood and a place with a larger room and a view, but we went with what we could afford this time. Customer service & housekeeping was friendly and took very good care of us and kept everything clean (even cleaned the dishes for us). The location was surrounded by grocery stores and restaurants and such, and at night, night clubs came alive, especially on the weekend (which we didn't care for). The hotel's in walking distance to the Opera House, Harbor Bridge, World Square, the ocean, parks, ferries, the Botanic Garden, etc. The subway station is right around the corner which can take you all over. So in other words, if you don't mind the small room and nightlife (and know how to watch your back), this is a good option for you.
