  The room was very small and the hotel overall is outdated. We hardly walked from one side of bed to the other. had to use the bed to place staff. The hotel is the mid of the town and only a short walk to the rail station or cableway station to Gornergrat. Many restaurants around.

  We stayed in room #34 and had a view of the Matterhorn right from our bed. The room was small but clean and comfortable. The hotel is very close to the main street in town for shopping and eating. Breakfast served next door had a good variety and the service was excellent. We would stay at this location again.

  I stayed at the Swiss Alpine Hotel last week with two other buddies of mine. It was easy to find, centrally located to town, but about a 15 minute walk to the main lift. Great views of either the Matterhorn, or one of the main thoroughfares through town. The lady who works at the front desk (Sandra) was very pleasant...and quite funny. The lady who works the breakfast room doesn't speak a lick of English, and will hold entire conversations in German even if she knows you don't speak it. Rooms were nice, but got a little hot at night. You could just crack the door, and it would be fine. Overall, a great experience, fun place to stay...would recommend to friends.

  A must see is The Matterhorn, especially from the Gorengrat train station!
