The hotel was in a great spot in the heart of the little town. The staff was very nice and helpful.

just what I would have imagines from the multiple reviews. A very quaint and simple hotel just off the beaten path but very acomodating and quiet. The front desk staff was very tuned in to my requests and I got my single room with a bathtub. My room was not the tiny one I had imagined at all. The bedroom and bathroom were about the same size and quite spacious for my needs as a single traveller, The room was cleaned daily and there was an ultrawarm comforter on the bed. I actually had to oprn the door to keep cool as the comforter was so warm!!! The breakfast was quite adequate and the self serve was no problem at all. It made one feel that there is no rushing or need to work with wait staff. The location is a five minute walk to the west station and about a 12 minute walk to the east station (from which most of the connection tour trains leave). I didn't have any problems connecting with either station and during the day there is free bus service to both stations from the main road whick is a 2 block walk. The hotel sits on a swiftly flowing river which is just georgous ( an aqua color) . My room overlooked the river and I could sit out and listen and watch the river. About the only down sides were the train which passes wuite quietly behind the hotel and the interior noises from the creaky floors. I always take a sound machine with me anyway so that never bothered me. Also to remember is that the electric system in Switzerland is its own and the european plugs do not work. The front desk kindly loaned me two plugs though and I had no problem except that the higher current melted my curling iron!!! So beware of long term plug ins!!!I did hear of one persons cellphone being destroyed on their current also but I was told it was an "older"model. All in all , this hotel is a great bargain for the money and I am a person who expects good quality and service to boot.
"Well-located but very dated and quirky"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Oct 6, 2011
The staff could not have been nicer and the hotel was clean and well kept. However, the hotel is clearly very old and has not been updated in decades. The bathroom was 70s brown and super, super small. Although very oddly the shower head was more 80s...when you turned the shower on, the shower head lit up in a variety of bright colors. Also very odd was the welcome note the staff left...hand-written on the end of the toilet paper roll!!! I would love to know who thought that was a classy idea! And the fan in the bathroom was very loud and would turn on about 20 seconds after the bathroom light was turned on but the stayed on for about 10 minutes afterward it was turned off. Really annoying!
"Lindner Grand Hotel Beau Rivage - Perfect Location"Reviewed by Parshuram P of "Stamford, CT" on Aug 14, 2011
The hotel is located from walking distance of Interlaken Ost station. It was very convenient for us to walk quickly to hotel after getting off the GoldenPass express and hotel will allow early check ins if the your room is ready, if not they will keep your luggage and then later move into the room when it is available. This helped us a lot as we could quickly return to the station to catch the jungfrau (Top of Europe) trains.
