My wife and I travelled to Lugano for a business meeting that I had and we chose this hotel so that she could enjoy the city while I attended meetings. Everything is well within walking distance of this hotel, while they also have nearby parking as we had a car. Our room fronted the lake and we also enjoyed the view from the breakfast room the following morning. It is an older hotel with character and an efficient staff. We would stay here again.

Convenient location to train station and quick walk down to lake. Shower is built into a hallway wall, strange, but effective. Man that greeted us at the desk was not very informative regarding breakfast hours, check out time etc.

The hotel seems a little outdated, but it adds to the charm of the place somehow. Its situated right at the edge of one of the main shopping strips, so its easy to walk from the hotel to everything in town. The rooms are a decent size, clean, and somewhat modernized. Breakfast was standard European fare, cold cuts, cereals, cheese. They do offer an egg menu for breakfast where you can request a plate made to your preference. There was construction evident a block away as a few reviewers mentioned, but we stayed on a weekend and didn't hear a peep from the construction site.
