"very close to all the shopping and transportation."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 25, 2013
Liked the hotel, first room, the bathroom too small for comfort. They did change our room without a problem, for a room that was slightly bigger with a larger bathroom. We were very satisfied. I would consider this hotel again. It is so close to trams and the main station. Also department store across the street. Very quiet for a downtown hotel.

The Alexander is a short walk from the train station and convenient to all the fun of the Old Town in Zurich. We were given an upgrade from the Guesthouse to the Main Hotel. Our room was clean and comfortable. We were right among the cobblestone alleys of the Old Town and only 5 minutes walk from the shopping along Bahnhofstrasse. We'll stay at the Alexander again on our next trip.

"Feb 2013 Zurich visit"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 17, 2013
Hotel is minimalist located by Zurich University. The room was very attractive and with the southern exposure the sun was uplifting. It is approximately a 10 minute walk to the 'old city'...the Platte trolley stop is only a block away Staff was very helpful upon arrival. Breakfast seemed to be a bit disorganized ( but very adequate), as the Hotel seemed to be in the midst of the 'slow season'. Overall the place is very good and I would recommend to others. I miss the coffee already!!!
"Very nice to stay a night or two."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 8, 2013
This is one of the best hotels I've been in Europe. I am mid-twenties American in the military and I absolutely loved this hotel. Great way to spend two nights with your loved one. My girlfriend was also impressed with the style and decor and friendliness of the concierge. Very helpful. Breakfast was decent and the locality to a variety of bars and restauraunts was a plus. The price was just right for the room size and the ammenities available. The only downside is that there is no immediate designated parking. You can stop in front of hotel to check-in/check-out, but long term is a 5 minute walk away over the river at uriahanas park house which was 44 Euro a day.....don't park in any other because they charge 2 euro per 15 minutes after 3 hours.

Top-notch service, high-quality room. Short walk from train station. Five stars.
"Nice business hotel"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 5, 2013
Conviniently located in the business area of Zurich West, nearby a tram station. The hotel is well suited for business needs, although lacking a swimming pool and a larger fitness center that can be expected from other hotels in the price range. Room was medium sized, comfort was OK, although I prefer rooms with a bath tub. The main thing that was missing in the room was temperature control, sometimes it was a bit too cold.

"Great value, great location"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jan 30, 2013
How convenient. 10 minute walk to train station, near the old city and artisanal shopping. Very good restaurants with a lot of choice just minutes away walking. The hotel is very clean and comfortable and the staff was very helpful. The continental breakfast offered had plenty of choice by Euro standards. Will stay here again when in Zurich.
