it was a good stay meeting expectation. The hotel is located a few blocks from the train station and walking distance to the shopping district. The suite is large with cooking top, very convenient for family vacation stay. The lobby was closed down with no formal reception desk. It seemed a little awkward. We arrived early before the checking in time. The luggages were kept in the laundry room down stairs.

A great deal considering the location and the staff was very friendly, though they could have been more knowledgeable about places to eat, see, etc. Steps away from the metro (literally), a charming building, clean room, walking distance to the lake & restaurants, just minutes to the Old City. The perfect place to spend a few nights in Lausanne away from the hustle & bustle of the nightlife and marina. Would definitely go back!

Room decor is definitely dated but they are very clean. Hotel City is just a block away from the Cathedral and the pedestrian zone in the Old City. There are grocery stores and a self-service laundry facility within easy walking distance. I definitely recommend this place!

This hotel was as advertised in the three travel books I consulted prior to booking as well as the information on Hotels.com. The location was one block from the train station making it a 15-20 minute walk to the lakeside via the perdestrian walkway along the metro route. The surrounding area is full of good restaurants, bars, and other shopping facilities. As one of the revieweres noted, it is not intuitive to drive to it by car, but with a GPS we were able to get there without problem. Parking was available as stated. The room was clean, comfortable, and in very good condition, and the bed was excellent, with down pillows and comforter. Breakfast was notable as well. This is a great location and hotel if you want to be in the old town and be in walking distance to the lake. If 15 minutes is too far to walk, you can take the metro which is just a few steps outside and down the hill from the hotel.
