I like to walk everywhere once I am in a town the size of Banff - this hotel is located quite a distance from the downtown area of Banff however there is a local and frequent bus service with bus stops located close to the hotel the staff were most helpful when we asked where to eat - the restaurant in the adjoining hotel was great

If you stay here understand that the property is basic, but well maintained. We were, however, located next to young boys who made some noise late in the evening. It would have been better to be more isolated from them. A shared bathroom was down the hall, but we survived. The room had only one electrical wall outlet. They had great kitchen, well equipped with refrigerators and all the tools we needed to prepare an evening meal. Meal service was provided on site, but we did not use it. On site parking for our rental car was available. You cannot beat the price in this location, unless you camp out. My wife and I are seasoned world travelers, age 69 and 65 respectively. We were on a month-long driving trip to see national parks in the Rockies in the US and Canada. This property was one of roughly 25 in which we stayed.

We stayed four nights in a studio apartment. When we first entered, I was apprehensive because the room looked dirty and old. Upon closer inspection, the bed was among the cleanest that I had encountered for our trip and the bathroom was also up to par. The positives: very clean, very comfy bed; clean bathroom; a lot of nice toiletries (2 sets); lots of space to move around; free parking; kitchen for making your own food; walking distance from downtown shopping. The negatives: exterior looks quite rundown and old; check-in is done in another building; floors in the room are carpeted (old and dirty looking); bathroom floors are rundown; bathroom towels thin and rundown; kitchen is old; cooking utensils are marred; no ac just a fan; no internet access in the room- you can get free wireless internet in the lobby in the check-in building; can hear the footsteps and noise from the room above very loud. All in all, this hotel is good for travelers who don't intend to spend much time in their rooms, who want to cook their own food, and who don't need much comfort. Good for the price we paid since the area can be 'touristy' and expensive.
