With the towering Basilica of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupre shooting up out of the rolling skyline of the Laurentian Mountains like lightning, the Beaupre quarter boasts some of the most enchanting scenery in Canada, not too far from Downtown Quebec. Adrenaline-junkies can scythe across the slopes at the Mont-Sainte-Anne ski resort, while anyone who loves life's calmer exploits can gaze for hours upon the gorgeous gushing waterfalls at Canyon Sainte-Anne.
If you love exploring a district at your own pace, Lower Town's got your name on it. A picturesque network of narrow cobbled streets, lined with high-end shops, and quaint eateries that fill Maison Chevalier and Rue du Petit-Champlain with the mouth-watering scents of authentic Québécois poutine and smoked meats. If you prefer the effervescent energy of a thriving city, the retail hub at St-Pierre is alive with visitors 24/7.
Quebec's oldest district also happens to be one of its prettiest: a delightful mix of colonial French architecture and picturesque cobbled streets. The Place-Royale square, bursting with delectable al fresco restaurants and featuring a vibrant, colorful mural is a must, as is the 17th Century stone Notre-Dame-des-Victoires church. Or delve into the fascinating ancient and colonial history of Quebec at the Musee de la Civilisation.
If you're at your happiest when bustling from high-street stores to designer boutiques, the Sainte-Foy district is where you want to head. Laurier Quebec shopping center boasts over 300 stores to keep even the most discerning shopaholic hungry for more, while the Parc Aquarium is a family-friendly treat for kids and animal-lovers alike. By contrast, great views of the Saint Lawrence river can be had in Sillery.
Upper Town is a beautiful quarter of Old Quebec dominated by the palatial red-brick wonder of the Chateau Frontenac, one of Canada's most iconic buildings, boasting incredible views across the majestic Saint Lawrence river. Immerse yourself in Quebec's rich past from the ramparts of La Citadelle, an imposing fortress with its own military museum, or splash the cash at a designer store down the Rue St-Jean.

"Fabulous hotel for a long weekend, great staff"

Stayed here for a three day weekend getaway. Sleek, modern, and clean. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends. It was my first time to Quebec City and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Restaurant in the hotel was very good as well (I usually don't like hotel restaurants and avoid them completely but I actually ate several tasty meals at the Tryp restaurant). The only category I gave it less than five for was the location, it is a 20 min walk from old town which is fine is you're up for it, and I knew that when I booked the place but want to mention it as an FYI for others. There is also shopping and restaurants right near the hotel.

Great Stay. Pay attention to the recommendations and you will be warm and comfortable. This is a must see all lit up at night. Sitting in the hot tub with a light snow was also very nice. The hotel was full but never seemed crowded at all. Easy to use the hot tubs or sauna or have one of the ice tables near the bar. They also had ice carving during the evening. If you get cold you can always go to the building right next to the ice hotel where the lockers are. They have plenty of couches and sitting areas. This was better than expected. Nice hot shower in the main locker room in the morning was very welcome. We did get a back up room at the Sheraton that we used as a base but we booked it directly and saved a lot of money.

I highly recommend this Auberge; I booked two nights in one of the suite to celebrate my mother's 87th birthday; absolutely great; bonus: she has difficulty to walk and found this great restaurant reachable from within the hotel the Mateo Matti (great food, great service and great price).
