"Charming!"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Apr 30, 2012
What a lovely stay we had here! We absolutely loved our little room. I'm one for cozy little rooms and ours was a beautiful one with wooden floors, charming furniture, gorgeous ceiling lighting and adorable white lamps with a French flair. The bed was so comfortable, with the mattress on the firm side, but we like that. The bathroom was clean. A nice, flat screen tv. Everything was in great condition. Absolutely nothing to complain about! A pleasure to come back to after a long day on our feet. A mistake made by us was that we did not read the room manual to find out how to connect the thermostat. We thought it was broken but in reality we should have read the instructions. In the mornings there was a delicious buffet breakfast prepared in the downstairs breakfast room. There were wonderful Montreal-style bagels, scrambeled eggs, ham, toast, jam, yogurt, and all sorts of other things. Saved us the trouble of going out into the cold so early! We may be returning to Montreal on further business and I hope this place will again be available. A note on parking.... There is 15 minute parking outside the hotel for when you check in and check out. We parked underneath the Bibliotheque in the parking garage otherwise, just a couple of blocks away. About $12/ day.

Nice to have a kitchenette! Walking distance to underground mall, St. Patrick's Basilica and restaurants. Very nice staff. Bathrrom may need some updating though...
"Perfect location"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Apr 23, 2012
The overall hotel is pretty much what you would expect for a cheap price. Room was clean and sheets smelt fresh, rather small but enough space for two, which is all that was needed. If your on a business trip or looking for a place to stay for a week, I would recommend SOMEWHERE ELSE; but if your looking for a place to crash with you buddies for a crazy weekend trip, I strongly recommend it. The location is PERFECT! There is Crescent St along the side that is full of nice pubs and bars. and it is parallel to saint Catherine St. which is truly the place to be at night. Also, it is only a about a mile away from Saint Laurent St. which has some of the best clubs. Overall, If its for business/Vacation don't recommend but if its for a fun getaway, It is a MUST!

Good for the price you pay. They don't provide shower shampoo, just soap. Also the rooms are so close and separated by thin walls, so people in the hallway can wake you up at night and people talking or walking in the room next to you can be heard and wake you up if you are a light sleeper which happened to me.
"very good for the price"Reviewed by jenna c of "new york" on Apr 14, 2012
I must say the staff here was very friendly, helpful and informative. I was expecting a shabby place something not too comfortable but i was wrong. The room i stayed in was comfy and always cleaned and i was delighted with the cute decorations of the room. I did find it exhausting to go up 4 flights after a long day out and about but it was a minor complaint. The hotel is also smoke free so when i did feel the urge for a cigarette i had to think twice about the trip back up the many stairs. It was located fairly close to many places i went to sight see and if not two blocks away u can find taxi services. Although the location looks a bit shabby especially at night, i felt comfortable once i was inside and the breakfast helped my budget a great deal. Overall i was very impressed.
"Terrific location; clean; bathroom/shwr down hall"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Apr 4, 2012
Inexpensive and terrific location adjacent to Metro. Number 11 bus stops across the street if you want to go to the top of Mont Royal. Excellent breakfast of fresh croissants and very good coffee. Very helpful staff. Toilet and shower are in separate little rooms off hall, and separate for men/women. Shower room is just a bit bigger than the shower, so there's very little room, but you can manage. Both toilet and shower very clean. So, with this in mind, and considering the price and location, I would highly recommend Hotel Stay.
