German Museum of Technology Hotels - Berlin

Only downside could be that there are no nearby restaurants although hotel has a bistro. However it is only 100 metres from Underground (steps only underground) so this is not a problem. Would recommend as excellent value for money. Nice courtyard garden to eat breakfast and sit in. Good breakfasts.

The hotel has been recently renovated and was very nice, had a room on the top floor that was quiet. The underground S-Bahn station is pretty much next door to the hotel and Potsdamer Plazt is only ten minutes walk away.

The room was fine, good shower, quiet air conditioning and comfy beds. My daughter of 10 had sofa bed which was queen size-the room was large enough that we could leave the sofa bed made up for a few days and still have space to move around. Breakfast was ample and staff were very pleasant-they explained how to get back to airport, etc when asked. |The nearest u rail is Anhalter Bahnhof-about 300m and Potsdamer Platz is a very pleasant 15 minute walk. There is a good supermarket directly opposite the hotel but not much choice of restaurants in the vicinity. Its a15 minute walk to the Techno-museum, a great place to bring children for the day. We even found a great children's playground down the street from the hotel- would be a bit wary at night time though, of streets parallel to this. No tv movies were available on the night we asked and no real explanation but that was only minus.

This is a small well run, friendly, quiet hotel located in a residential area off the main road. The rooms are adequately furnished, very clean and ideal for touring, holiday makers or \i would imagine business. The staff are helpful and the breakfast is excellent although a little expensive. Although it lacks some of the facilities of larger hotels the small bar and outside sitting area add a quiet and convenient charm to this worthwhile hotel.

My trip was a business trip, so unfortunately I didn't get enough time to chill out in Berlin. This hotel is great value & well located for travelling around Berlin on the underground. The rooms have everything you need & are clean & bright. the only thing lacking is air- conditioning, but for the Berlin winter thats no problem! We will definately use this hotel again the next time we travel to Berlin

Nice room, nice service, very nice breakfast, good price. Very noisy room on the main road, so unable to open windows - this meant a very hot room with no aircon and some discomfort. But you could (and should) ask for a room at the back of the hotel. Curious location, 10 minutes walk from Potsdamer Platz - if you like to shop and go to the cinema then this is ideal. If I went back, I would stay somewhere around Alexanderplatz. But for the price, the AltBerlin was good.
