Since the B&B I usually stay at was fully booked, I had to look for other lodging during my trip. I chose Prytania Park because of the low cost and that it's located just one block from St. Charles. Free parking was also something that lured me in. If I had to stay somewhere for just one night, I might crash here again....if the price was right. But I would not stay here for any length of time again. I could not get any wifi connection in my room because the signal couldn't reach through the concrete wall. (I asked the front desk about it). You must go into the small lobby area or sit on the patio near the office to get a signal. So, sitting outside in the cold and rain to do work on my laptop was not something I had in mind. Also due to the position of my room (near the housekeeping area), we were woken up around 7:00 each morning to the sound of housekeepers' laughing and yelling at each other, plus the sound of something clanging loudly. While I was happy that our room had plenty of hot water, it didn't have any hot air. When I turned the ac/heater to heat, it just blew cold air out. Luckily I brought a space heater with me in case of lackluster hotel heating. One absurdity is that you're charged $1.00 for each LOCAL call you make. I made all calls on my prepaid cell phone since that was cheaper than using the hotel's phone.
