Dover Beach Hotel
"A great little find"

From slightly mixed reviews, and because it wasn't my first choice, I was prepared to be disappointed by Dover Beach Hotel, so it came as a pleasant surprise to find that it was excellent in every way. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, the whole hotel is spotlessly clean, the room was cool and comfortable - not luxurious but fine at the price - with a well-equipped kitchenette and lovely balcony. I would certainly recommend paying a little more for an ocean view room - the view out over the pool and beach was great, and the beach was wonderful for swimming and jumping waves. All the fun of St Laurence Gap is a short stroll away, but the hotel itself is quiet so you can get a good night's sleep in the very comfy bed. Wi-fi is only available in the lobby (with a polished marble floor and comfortable seats, but not air-conditioned) and it would have been good to have it in the room, but that is my only complaint. As an interracaial gay couple (my boyfriend is Bajian and his family came with us when we arrived at the hotel - they approved of it too) we were treated the same as everyone else and experienced no problems at all. Overall, a very pleasant experience and I would return there with no hesitation.” 28/07/2008
