The hotel, which is really a motel, was a totally adequate place to stay. It was nice to stay in a room with more space after the ones we stayed in in Paris and Caen. It was especially nice as it was a very close drive in to Bayeux to see the sights, and to the D-Day beaches. The room was clean and quiet. The parking is free. Yes it would have been nice to stay in a hotel on one of the main streets in town, but this was definitely close enough, we really are talking two minutes away!! And the hotels in town are so much more expensive. We would absolutely stay here again.”
Very clean hotel. Showers were good and so were the beds. Breakfast and dinner available. I did not try either so can not comment on them. Lobby bar open until 11pm. 5 minute walk to the center of town. Good parking. Relatively new hotel, so quite modern. Easy access to Normandy beaches, Mont St. Michel and Caen by car.”
Room was excellent. Breakfast was extremely good. Parking lot could be a bit bigger, but I won't be picky ;) Half of the staff that I met was not very helpful, and kind of rude...like they were tired of dealing with customers/tourists. But the other half was very helpful and took the extra step, so all in all it was a good experience. I'd stay here again. It is very close to the memorial and was very conveinent if your driving (sortie 7 off of the Caen periferique and it is right there).”
We were particularly pleased with our rooms here - in excellent condition and order and, in our case, with small balconies overlooking the town. The hotel itself is light and attractive throughout. Two of our party were elderly but had no difficulties - though the expected en suite shower turned out to be a bath, which might have caused a problem. Buffet breakfasts were good and the breakfast room is pleasant. The one slight negative was a need to remind the reception staff on the two occasions we made requests - for a tea tray and an internet access code. Whilst Trouville is not as picture book charming as nearby Honfleur it compares well with its UK competitors for general atmosphere and facilities. And Deauville with its sweeping beach and grand esplanade is just over the bridge. For us, the area was a pleasant surprise.”
The hotel was on the street running parallel to the coast road, so not too difficult to find, although it was so far out we thought we'd missed it. We had chosen it because it was out of the town centre - with a car 'full' of French wine, we wanted to park somewhere out of the way. The limited parking is in front of the hotel (perhaps space for 5 cars) but there is some additional parking opposite on the wide verge. Although we had no problems, I had hoped for something more secure. As they weren't serving food, so we had to drive into the town to get an evenining meal, which meant no parking spaces in front when we got back. Reception was friendly & helpful. The room, in the main hotel, was clean if rather small but the shower was good. Size was adequate for an overnight stay before catching the early morning ferry. I wouldn't have wanted to stay a long time.”
