"The name says it all -- simply amazing"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Nov 1, 2012
Best hotel I have ever stayed in. Stunning caldera views, amazing and most helpful staff. Rooms are fantastic and artfully and tastefully designed. Imerovigli is by far the best spot on the island if you want tranquility without being completely away from the action. Breakfasts are amazing. Simply an amazing property. It was the end of the season and they upgraded us to a Honeymoon Suite which was simply out of this world.

"Close to Fira and quick ride to Oia"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Oct 18, 2012
Very nice and courteous staff, from the airport driver to the receptionist. Easy and short walk to capital city of Fira filled with shops and restaurants. Rented an ATV for only 20 EUR for 24 hours which allowed us to explore the island and make our way to beautiful Oia.

Afroessa was a wonderful hotel. The service was outstanding and the views were fantastic. It's in a good location. You can easily walk to some restaurants. The staff is very friendly and I would recommend this place to anyone.

"Amazing View..."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Oct 12, 2012
This hotel is a great place to stay if you're looking for relaxation. Amazing view of the volcano island and if you rent a car you have access to the northern part Oia and also the southern where the beaches are. Tips: Rent a car from Fira (main square) and not the hotel, and also schedule your excursions from there too, you'll save a lot of money. The excursion we did was to the Volcano which they don't tell you has another entrance fee until you get there and from there to the HOT spring which first they don't mention you have to swim to get there in very deep water. So if you are not a great swimmer you end up staying on the boat which many did and were disappointed no one told us. The hot spring is much more of a warm spring and isn't really worth it to be honest...In retrospect staying at the hotel and relaxing would have been a better way to spend the day. Also, note if you rent a car the entire island of Santorini has no road signs! The maps do not either, only some markers and so getting lost for hours is easy! We did, were frustrated but also exhilarated by the experience...be smart, keep an eye out for landmarks.

Our room had our own patio overlooking the caldera that provided a great sunsets without the tourists. The room was very clean and they were great about bringing fresh towels daily and breakfast was brought to our patio each morning. Breakfast was good with pastry/toast/yogurt/fruit, but was the same each morning. If you're going to Santorini, stay in Oia. Totally worth the extra money to stay in the beautiful place and so easy to take the bus to pretty much anywhere else on the island. The front desk helped us book sailboat trip for good rate and had good recommendations on wineries to see. The only downside to this place was the hot tub was luke warm and you have to walk about 5-10 minutes to the restaurants/shops of Oia. Try to get off the bus at the big white church before the final stop in Oia to save yourself the extra walk on a very narrow road. Really enjoyed this hotel and we got upgraded, too, since they weren't totally full!
"Excellent hotel with great staff and views!"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Sep 27, 2012
We stayed at Nomikos Villas for two nights and were completely impressed with everything. We had arrived later than planned as the ferries were late, however staff welcomed us with a glass of red wine as the sun went down over the caldera. Our room, number 4, was beautiful. The bathroom and small living area were downstairs and the queen sized bed was located in a loft with a beautiful view of the entire caldera. The room was clean and the bathroom had a cave atmosphere to it, especially the shower. The windows opened up for a nice breeze to blow in and it was easy to relax there or pool side. There is even a hot tub, although it is at a comfortable temperature and great for relaxing. Staff were very helpful and friendly, we even spent an afternoon enjoying a few Mythos beers and getting to know them. It is close to several restaurants and the town is within walking distance. We highly recommend Nomikos and we will definitely stay here again.
