I stayed in the hotel for one night with a friend so we can get away from our aircraft carrier for one night and enjoy town. I have to tell you that I was impressed with the quality and the pride of the owners (which I believe to be husband and wife) take on their business. We stayed on the 3rd floor and we didn’t hear a thing from the outside even though we were in the middle of some Swedish/Norwegian spring break with all the teenagers drinking and partying. Walking distance from Old Town, the restaurants area, Bar Street and the Beach. It’s all there around the hotel. Why pay twice, three times what this hotel cost? I don’t know but I rather use the difference and try to absorb all cultural aspects, tours, foods and drinks with that money and you still probably will have some euro coins making ching-a-linga-linga in your pocket! Great hotel overall!! :-)

We needed a place close to the airport since we were leaving at 6AM. Esmerelda was very inexpensive. For what it cost, I was impressed with the hotel. It is located in the heart of Kermasti about 2 km from the airport and has no parking. Kermasti is very crowded and commercial.
The room was large, in the back of the hotel so it was reasonably quiet. It was clean with a balcony overlooking the yard of the house next door. The owners/staff were very polite and helpful. During our tours we have paid 3 or 4 times as much for rooms that were far inferior.

The Rhodian Sun is a charming, family-run hotel that goes above and beyond to make each guest feel welcome. They shuttle you to and from the airport, and just about anywhere else you need to go on the island. They offer inexpensive, home-cooked meals (continental breakfast is complimentary) and have a beautiful outdoor pool area. Yesterday I was passing back through Rhodes on my way to Rome and had a six-hour layover at the airport. They picked me up from the airport and brought me back to the hotel so I could relax by the pool for a few hours. Then they drove me and another guest to a restaurant for dinner and delivered me back to the airport in time for my flight. And, at this point, I wasn't even a guest at the hotel! Now that's service! If you're looking for a great hotel in Rhodes that's convenient to the airport, the Rhodian Sun is it!

I would definitely go back. As previous reviewer remarked, there are extremely helpful people in charge. Pool area is very good and there was no problem getting a sun lounger.
Hot water ran out once and sink was slow to drain but overall it was very well worth the money.
