"Casino Hotel"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jan 29, 2013
A unique property with personalized 'butler service' made a nice touch. The room was lovely and furnished luxuriously about 10 minutes walk from the old town. The only complaint is that because of the casino, the whole hotel had the scent of smoke, including the non smoking rooms. If you're sensitive to smoke, be warned.

"Perfect locatiion"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jul 20, 2012
Hotel is perfect! Comfortable, clean, courteous staff. Hotel is pefectely situated on the Faliraki beach (on the Mediterrean Sea) and within walking distance of Night Life on the strip. Loved the breakfast that comes with every room. The pool and sauna are great for relaxing after a night on the town.
"NOT BAD BUT EXCEPTIONALLY HOT!!!!"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jul 17, 2012
GREAT HOTEL! GOOD PRICE AND FRIENDLY STAFF. CAME IN JULY AND MY ROOM WAS MISERABLY HOT. MY AIR CONDITIONING BLEW COOL AT THE VENT ONLY. THE ROOM NEVER COOLED AT ALL. I SPOKE TO THE STAFF 3X AND THEY SENT A MAINTENANCE PERSON TWICE BUT NOTHING WAS EVER FIXED OVER THE DURATION OF MY STAY. ASKED TO SWITCH ROOMS AND THEY SAID NONE WERE AVAILABLE. IT WAS SO HOT THAT SLEEPING WAS IMPOSSIBLE.

"Everything except the food"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jan 11, 2012
Wonderful hotel - especially the staff. The bar area was great and it is close to everything, including restaurants, shops and bars. The only thing that was not perfect was the food, which was average at best. However, you are so close to everything else that it really does not matter.
"Charming hotel, HUGE, ocean view, best buffet!"Reviewed by Sylvia K of "Germany" on Aug 30, 2011
Initially I found that booking with hotels.com was much cheaper than the Euro rate offered on the Mitsis Grand Hotel website. When we arrived at the Rhodes airport, the taxi driver told us that the Mitsis is the best hotel in Rhodes. Best to share a cab; 4 people will pay 5 euros each. The public bus is 3 euros and a real problem because it stops at every block on the way to the hotel and doesn't keep a regular schedule. The location is amazing with the beach right in front of the hotel. The hotel staff was nice and friendly, although with the number of guests checking in and out every hour, plus the 12 hrs shifts they work, I can see why other guests thought the staff were not as cordial. By U.S. standards, this is more of a 4* than 5*. The hotel was constructed in 1962, so yes, it isn't as clean and luxurious as a Four Seasons or Ritz Carlton. I would say it compares to your local Holiday Inn or Marriott. The room was spacious and they split our beds upon request (they usually stick 2 twins together). There was plenty of room to spread out our belongings and we had a beautiful balcony looking out directly to the ocean. The pool was overcrowded with families, so we never spent time there. Also, you must pay to use the gym. The towel policy was a bit bizarre, requiring a 15 euro deposit. When we went to pay for our towel, the cashier said the register would be closed for 1.5 hrs. We walked around and bought beach towels for 4 euros to save time. The breakfast buffet is amazing, delicious and fresh, plus you can get eggs and crepes made-to-order on the spot. The hotel is very safe, they offered storage during the morning of our checkout since we had a midnight ferry to Santorini and it made no sense paying for an additional night. Overall our stay was positive, the location could not get any better, right on the beach and about 20 mins walking east to Old town. If you want to stay at a large chain, with tons of guests, and great location, you will enjoy your sta
"Location Infromation is Incorrect"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 25, 2011
There is nothing wrong with the hotel if you are looking for a resort style hotel. We were looking for a hotel close to the port of Rhodes and Old Town. The map and description on Hotels.com lead us to believe that this hotel met our needs. Actually the hotel is 4-5 km from the city of Rhodes. We were using Rhodes to travel to other nearby islands not as a destination. If you want accurate location information go to the hotel's web site.

"Fabulous choice!"Reviewed by A K of "Washington DC" on Apr 27, 2011
A friend and I chose this hotel over the pricier Sheraton and we never regretted it! Our room was comfy and the overall appeal of the hotel was great. Fabulous pool area, open dining area and the breakfast was delicious. The staff was courteous and helpful and we were allowed to walk the grounds with drinks in our hands without a problem. You're a 2 minute walk from the beach and a 7 euro cab ride to Old Town. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone going to Rhodes!
