"The perfect place to stay in Giza"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 5, 2013
My husband and I were very pleased with Horizon Pyramids Hotel. We stumbled upon this diamond in the rough after 4 horrific days at the hostel Royal in Cairo (see trio advisor for that review & picture). When the taxi pulled up to the Horizon Pyramids Hotel we were very pleased with the outside appearance; once we entered the hotel we were greeted by the front doors man who directed us to the reception area. We booked online & requested early check in. We were then directed to an sitting area to wait for our room which they said would be ready in 15 mins while waiting for our room a gentleman came with two wine glasses of punch. Before I could finish my punch the bell man informed us our room was ready. The room was small however it was enough for my husband & I. Our room had an balcony with the pyramid view. We ordered room service; not only were they speedy it was also delicious. I found the bathroom quite relaxing after a day of exploring. The deep tub & hot water was very relaxing. My husband and I highly recommend The Horizon Pyramids Hotel in Giza Egypt.

As far as budget hotels go, this place was great! The rooms were well air conditioned, clean, and the beds were relatively comfortable. The bathrooms were spotless and the hot water abounded in the shower. They offer an included breakfast in the morning that provided many options both traditional Egyptian (salads, dips, cheeses, etc...) and typical breakfast (omelets made to order, bread, toast, cereal, coffee). This was the best breakfast I found of all the hotels I stayed in just fyi while in Egypt. The only thing I can't truly comment on is the location per se. I was there for 4 nights total traveling with a touring company and so we were shuttled all over the place and thus didn't have to venture out on our own much. The hotel is in GIZA not Cairo so just keep that in mind. It's about 80 Egyptian Pounds by taxi from the airport to this location (but you need to haggle to get that price!). It provided everything I needed in terms of a comfortable, clean place to stay but again, my transportation was provided so I can't speak do the convenience angle. This is the only reason my overall rating was a 4 as opposed to a 5. The surrounding neighborhood seemed safe enough albeit a bit dark at night (not a lot of street lights). There were restaurants and ATM's that were close by as well and the hotel offers internet for reasonable rates too.
