"Mondello Beach Hotel"
by S Birt. in Paris
We stayed here between the 24th and 26th August 2008. We moved down from the Centrale Palace Hotel in Palermo to get a little 'beach holiday'. The hotel is a little dated with the decor stuck in the '70s or late '60s. Consequently the room we stayed in which was a blue room (sea view) on the second floor, had basic furniture, and sheets and blankets rather than duvets and down pillows. The TV system is Sky and has lots of channels incl. news, music etc. There is also an extensive movie on demand selection. Internet is available at around 6.0 euros per hour or 15 euros for 24 hours. They also have a nice unlimited TV (incl movies) and Internet package for 25 euros. The bathroom had been updated around the 90's it seemed and was fine. The shower worked well but no bath. The room had a nice size of balcony with a great view of the bay. The pool and sun terrace area is great. There is a really nice pool down in the sea which is roped off with a rocky 'beach'. The sea was lovely and warm. The main pool is also a salt water pool. You may need goggles if you swim a lot in this as the water stings the eyes. There is a hot tub/ jacuzzi and bar in this area as well.” 28/08/2008
