The price is reasonable. I got one night for USD42 including tax. Comes with free WIFI and breakfast buffet. The WIFI connection is not good. I keep getting disconnected. Breakfast is not bad - fried rice, noodle, fried egg, fresh fruit slices, coffee, sausage and bacon. The bed is a bit hard for me. The bathroom lacked exhaust and the wall is semi frosted glass. Not good for travelling with friends since they can somewhat see what you doing inside. The location is good. Beside it is a restaurant, across are some souvineir shops. Get this hotel if you just need a place close to airport.

Matahari Bungalows is well situated in the heart of Legian. Don't judge the hotel by it's exterior - the reception area is behind an empty storefront. The hotel grounds stretch far beyond the main street and are very quiet with lush gardens. The pool is amazing and the hotel staff is very cooperative, accommodating and friendly. We stayed first in a suite which, for the price, might be not quite the bargain that the Deluxe rooms are. We initially booked online for the Deluxe room and were upgraded to the Suite - for the discounted price, the suites are great. They included a large kitchenette, hand carved four poster bed and a beautiful balcony. While it was a great room, it is not worth the full published rate - only because the bathroom is very old and outdated. Otherwise, a great room. The deluxe rooms feature updated bathrooms and flat screen TVs. In each room, the beds are comfortable and the rooms are very large. Comparing at full price, the Deluxe rooms are a much better bargain. The hotel staff unfortunately does not match online booking sites - so book online before you go for best rate. When we opted to extend our stay, they allowed us to book our extra nights online while enjoying cocktails at the pool's swim up bar. They were very gracious about it and made it very easy! Overall a great place to stay!

Everything was good in this hotel. Except the bathroom. There was always a bad smell from the toilet. Other than that staff is very nice but young. Great location very helpful and friendly staff.

A good hotel with very helpful staff. But the surrounding has limited restaurants. Rooms are good and comfortable.

The hotel is amazingly located so close to the main Kuta area, and yet far enough so one could find their piece of quietness and rest. The rooms are a bit too small, but they are clean, modern, the beds are very comfortable and overall the room was a very pleasant place to be in. I would rate 50% of hotel staff AMAZING (the men) and the other half (the women) not so much (and by this I mean - forgetful, and not so accommodating), but it would be unfair to rate them under 4 stars overall, since we got every information we wanted, and were accommodated fully in the end. The sunbeds by the pool are very comfortable, and the view is great. The beach part near this hotel is meant for surfers mainly, so if your goal is to swim, then probably different hotel would be a better choice. On the other hand, I was hoping I would be able to swim, but, instead, I switched my priorities when I got there, and had an amazing time in Kuta!

We had a great stay for 3 nights. The hotel reward were very friendly and helpful. They even game me a complimentary birthday cake and flowers on my birthday!! It is right across the street from the beach. The pool is gorgeous and a great way to get away from the annoyances of the beach vendors. There are lots of restaurants nearby but the bars aren't too far away. Hotel has security to make sure that only guests are hanging around. The room was comfortable and clean. It had a nice bathroom and shower. Bed was firm but comfy. The only negative is the room was kind of dark, but that didn't bother us.
