"great hotel, great price"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 3, 2013
we really enjoyed our stay here. we had been at the Royal Palace Frangipani prior, which was also lovely, but offered different pros. The 90's villa room was nicer in ways, with a great big window and cozier feel. The location is good, if you want to be away from the tourist center. Still walking distance from the Russian Market and other areas of town that are fun to explore. b'fast was not as good as at Royal Palace, and it was generally less busy and quieter, which we wanted. Better deal also, again if you're up for not being in the center. staff was helpful with directions, booking bus tickets, etc. strongly recommend.

bathroom ceiling too low for my 6'2" husband to stand fully upright. mirror too low for 5'6" me. hole in bedsheet but clean.. no elevator (not a good place for people with mobility issues) No room safes (a gym locker is available) But....great location, helpful staff, nicely prepared breakfast, beautiful wood carvings, Art Deco, close to river side. We enjoyed the room and our stay
"Surprisingly good value"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jan 9, 2013
Once we finally found this hotel it was a nice oasis from the heat and dust exploring Phnom Penh. Pool, lobby, nice sized room, friendly welcome. But 'off' the beaten track 35 min walk to riverside and Wifi did not work. Nice buffet but marred by presence of dubious 'workers' at breakfast with some guests.
"Comfortable hotel & friendly staff"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Dec 23, 2012
The staffs are friendly and able to offer help to you. The receptionists & the bell boy are very nice. The hotel is comfortable, clean with good condition of all facilities in the room, at least there is a hair dryer. My room included the breakfast, the breakfast is good for the price. The location is within walking distance from royal palace & central market, not really far but takes 15 mins to each.
"Nice hotel"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Oct 20, 2012
The hotel itself is nice and clean. Rooms are ample size and comfortable. About a 25 minuet walk or 5 min tuk-tuk ride from the main backpacker district (can be good or bad depending on your travel preferences.) Also a five min walk to the river front.
"Noise at Sokha Club"Reviewed by keith M of "Detroit, Mi" on Mar 2, 2012
First let me say that I like the hotel a lot. Rarely have I experienced such a capable and attentive staff. Always a smile for all the customers. The problem is with the design of the hotel. There is a karaoke club on the 3rd of 6 floors. The loud thumping noise easily carries to the 5th floor on one side of the building until 2am. Impossible to sleep if one is a light sleeper. After I was moved to the other side of the buliding I could not hear the music anymore. Unfortunately there is a restaurant on the 6th floor above that side of the building and one can hear the music until an hour past closing and then the noise of moving chairs lasted another hour. But at least I could sleep after midnight. Someone should have put the loud Karaoke room somewhere else or have had proper soundproofing.
