IT's a clean enough, fine enough hotel for a short stay. No english with service but that's to be expected in Sicily. A little hard to find and odd layout within the building but the rooms are fine. Breakfast was pretty lame. Horrible coffee, which in Italy is just plain wrong.

We stayed twice in the course of our drive around southern Sicily and thoroughly appreciated the welcoming environment and charming staff. They patiently answered dozens of questions, drew maps, recommended places to eat, directed us to buses, arranged taxis, and generally made our stay a pleasure.

Great value for a centrally located hotel across the street from Bellini Gardens and a 15 minute walk to all major sites (Catania Duomo, Fish Market, Greek Amphitheatre, etc) . If you like a true Sicilian hotel with old world character without the fluff, this hotel is for you, as it is for us. The hotel's building was one of the few not bombed in WWII. Our room was spacious with 12 ft ceilings with lovely coping. Just steps to shopping and great bakery/Cafe, restaurant alley. The service provided by Marco and staff was excellent, providing us with names of authentic Trattoria's to dine. Marco also coordinated inpromptu guided day trips (Siracusa, Taormina, Mt. Etna, etc). All-in-all, it was one of the highlights of our trip to Sicily. We would eagerly return.

The staff was extremely helpful and nice. The room was large. It's a B&B. A twenty minute walk from City Center where restaurants, cafes and shopping abound. WIFI was free and connected easily. Location is in older part of town. Little hard to find. Do not judge from initial modest, neighborhood appearances. The place ended up being very nice.

Lorenza is a kind host. We were pleasantly surprised with our room; it was a bi-level lofted space, with floor to ceiling windows. The bed was on the floor but it was comfortable. The heating system was adequate for sleeping in the loft, but the bottom floor stayed very cold at night and was unusable. A long walk from the train station, but very central to town center.

Our stay at B.A.D. was delightful-- offering an immersion into the life of Catania, the fish market and fruit and vegetable vendors, with excellent proximity to the piazza, cafes, tourist information and many aspects of the wonderful life of this city. Our only regret was not booking the apartment so that we could cook a little ourselves. Thank you Alessandro and staff for your guidance, and for helping to make our first trip to Sicily a true pleasure.

Our spacious room was quite comfortable. It had a lovely painted ceiling. Because the room was on the third floor, our view was limited to the tile roof of an adjacent building. The person at the reception desk was very helpful in arranging for an early morning taxi to the airport.
