Chantillys on the Bay was a very nice hotel, particularly after being on an outer island for a few days. The free internet access down in the lobby is a real plus in Vila (they charge for in-room access). The rooms are adequate, but certainly not tropical style. The views are wonderful out to the bay and to the sunsets. There is no elevator but the stairs are wide and easy. The pool is well-maintained, which is good since the swimming and snorkeling at the site is less than amazing. The restaurant downstairs,Tillys, is very good and their service impeccable. The hotel is within walking distance of a wide variety of restaurants when you tire of paying the prices at Tillys. I saw many single travelers that are housed here through business. There are many, also, who come from town to use the internet and drink coffee. All in all, a good experience made better by the staff!

Good place to stay......my only complaint was that my AC wouldn't stay below 23 degrees C. I could turn it down to 18 and it would stay there for about 90 seconds. Then automatically return itself to either 23 or 25 degrees. After spending the previous week on two different islands in Vanuatu where AC wasn't even an option, I was really looking forward to a cool room. Only a minor inconvenience.
