"Good, Convenient Hotel"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Overall, I enjoyed my recent stay at the Colomba Hotel. The hotel is very conveniently located two blocks from the Duomo and Academy Gallery. It is a family-run business and the family does take great pride in their hotel. My room (#7) was located right off the kitchen, so it was slightly noisy in the morning, but this really didn't bother me much. Otherwise, the room was quite spacious for a European hotel. At night, the family was usually eating dinner and watching TV in the kitchen area (they live upstairs, I believe), so it felt a little weird walking thru there in the evening. But with that said, I'd definitly stay here again as the hotel was well-run, clean, and very convenient.
"Very close to train station and walk to all sights"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
The location is very convenience and close to all attractions. breakfast is great.only one thing is the WIFI is not free, unlike the Best western Olimpia in Venice where WIFI is free.

Accomodations and location were terrific. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They even helped us with a car issue.

For a really last minute trip to Florence, this B&B was very accommodating, I booked only one night and decided to stay an extra and they were able to keep me in the same room and did not get upset for such last minute request. really close to the termini S.M Novella and like 10 minutes from the Main plaza with the Dome and all the transportation. The room was very clean and very nice for a B&B.

"Near Train Station and Florence Sights"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 4, 2012
I stayed at Hotel Universo twice and the staff was very friendly and helpful. It is an older building and the rooms are cramped but usable and the elevator is tiny . In one of my rooms the shower door opened only about 14 inches so an obese person would never be able to get in there but it was fine in the second room. Room was clean and well equipped and hotel had a very good continental breakfast. Located right near the train station and within easy walking distance to all the major sights in Florence. My biggest complaint was the extra fee for Wi-Fi use which only works in the lobby. There are numerous restaurants near the hotel that provide free Wi-Fi so it is ridiculous for this hotel to charge extra when we are spending hundreds of Euros on this room.
"Best choice for car travelers"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 3, 2012
Very good location for someone who is traveling by car. Rooms are large enough, very clean and breakfast was perfect.
"Great Location Pleasant Stay"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 2, 2012
Great Location even though it was across from a hospital. Keep the bathroom door closed and you can't hear the ambulances, I was amazed at the sound proofing they did since most hotels say so but few actually live up to it. Free breakfast food I'd pass on and get something nearby. Coffee like espresso or cappucinno were done very well so get one of those before you head out for your day.
"very nice hotel"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 2, 2012
everything was just perfect, and the perfect location, and a very helpful staff, very small elevator (2-3)people max
"Outside of city but it was definetly worth the wal"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 2, 2012
We loved this hotel and would definitely like to find more hotels just like this. The location, although a 15 minute walk from the main part of Florence, was still perfect. The shuttle was also available so no need to walk if you did not want to. The rooms were very nice and the view of the balcony to Florence was great. I plan on recommending this to all my friends. The only thing was that the restaurant there was a bit pricey.
