"Viva hotel okay if you need to get to the airport"

Lobby, hallways and rooms dated and musty... one of those carpets you want to keep your shoes on purely because it is so old. Located on a very busy road close to the airport, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately we knew it was not good when the door of our room on the seventh floor was located between two elevators, and I have never asked for a different room before, and this was the one occasion I wish I had. While we had specified a non smoking room, and it was labeled as such, it stank of musty smoke, so we opened the window and door, which helped a bit. In the summer this would not been an option because you would definitely want the air conditioning. Unfortunately, the smoke smell must come fromt he ventilation and circulated air because it was awful during the night. This is enough for me to never stay here again, but if this would not be an issue for you, then this is an okay choice. I would not recommend this location if you are sight seeing as it is too far away, pay the extra money to be closer so you may walk to everything. We stayed here because we had a very early flight, and stayed closer in Florence for our other 2 nights on the way into Italy.” 10/22/2009
