"Excellent Hotel"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 26, 2013
We are very satisfy with this hotel. It is located in 5 minutes walking distance from Florence central station. Excellent restaurant next door with 10% for hotel guests. We stayed in one of the unit with kitchen. There are supermarkets nearby. Breakfast is buffet style with many choices. Hotel staff is very helpful. They even helped us to print out train tickets when we purchased on line. We would definitely stay in this hotel again if we went to Florence again.
"Great place to stay!"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 24, 2013
The staff here were fabulous, even calling our hotel in Rome before we left them to ask a question for us. The room for two adults, a 6'+ 15 yr old and a 16 yr old was more then big enough and bright and airy. The bell tower outside the window was beautiful. Staying here you are close to the Duomo and convenient to the train station, which is fabulous when you are training between cities in Rome. We would most definitely stay here again!
"Hotel Axial"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 24, 2013
Hotel was a few steps from the Duomo & walking distance from Santa Maria Novella, Ponte Vecchio, Uffuzi, Academia, & San Croce.
"Very close to the train station and sightseeing"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 21, 2013
The room was not great - no heat (we asked them for a portable heater), no internet, small and smelly bathroom. But the location and the service made up for it. Conveniently located 5 min from Florence S.M.N train station and couple blocks away from the main tourist area. Many restaurants around the hotel to grab a bite. Breakfast spread was great.
"This hotel deserves more stars"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 14, 2013
First thought, this hotel deserves more stars. The staff was extremely helpful and very, very friendly. The hotel itself was fantastic. The room was huge, and furnished with beautiful antique furniture. The bathroom large with marble floor and a huge tub. The foyer was painted in old world tradition ornamentation. There is a nice sitting area in the lobby with computers for guest use. There is a lounge on the first floor where you could relax, chat with other guests, watch TV or read one of their many books on the area. The location was within easy walking.distance to many of the sights. The buffet breakfast was excellent. I simply can not think of anything about this hotel that was not positively excellent !
"Stunning location, decent hotel."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 8, 2013
The Viva Pitti Palace is just on the far side of the Ponte Vecchio, so a magnificent location for views, shopping and cultural tourism. Its top floor breakfast room offers a panorama of Florence along with an ample if undistinguished breakfast and pleasant staff. The hotel is basically comfortable and good, but was in renovation while we were there, with workmen using the single small elevator. Housekeeping is good, but there were a number of small maintenance items, and front desk staff were not quick to offer help when asked. We had reserved a room with view, but were placed on the first floor because of the construction, so had more street noise, despite the good windows. Overall, this is great place to stay in Florence, and could be a lot better with just a bit of freshening up and attitude adjustment.
"Four Star One Star Possibly"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 1, 2013
Booked for my daughter and her friend so this rating is 2nd hand. But they raved about the hotel and their room! It was only one night but their first in Italy arriving to spend a semester in Florence. Location was great and the room was "fancy" she said. Hotel.com reviews delivered again!

"fine stay"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jan 27, 2013
Delightful and courteous staff. Hotel is a charming mom-and-pop operation--my single room was clean, quite small but with an updated bathroom. Very convenient location a 5 minute walk from the Santa Maria train station and a 10/15 minute from the Duomo. Entrance is a bit unusual: first you get buzzed in through a gate and then take an old-style elevette to the 3rd floor for the hotel check-in desk. Free breakfast and WiFi were much appreciated. Hotel was undergoing renovation to its lobby when I stayed.
