"Stylish and Artsy"

The Design Suites is just what the name implies - it's all about design from the beautiful and tadtefull decorated rooms with top of the line linen and cozy beds to the friendliness and top notch service of the staff. Excellent and artfully created food with a spectacular view of the Andes. The only two drawbacks were the weak and inconsistent wi-fi signal at the farthest building from reception and the fact that it is located out of town so a taxi is a must. The hotel has a one-way shuttle to town twice a day. My suggestion for a perfect stay would be to install a wi-fi signal booster and begin a two-way shuttle to town. Overall, a great place to stay in Bariloche.
"Comfortable, central, and pricey"

The Edelweiss Hotel has nice rooms with vaguely Scandinavian style furniture. There is no aircon but the windows swing open on a vertical pivot, and since our room was in the back it was very quiet. The wifi is so slow and unreliable as to be unusable, but there are three wired stations at the entrance to the bar. The two elevators are very fast and seem adequate to the requirements. There is an enormous and beautiful indoor pool which hardly anyone seems to use. The included breakfast is really quite good, and is served from 7:00 to 10:30. The hotel is located just two blocks from the Centro Civico, and everyone in town seems to know where it is.
We had the worst luck with keys on this visit: At checkin we were given keys to the wrong room. The next morning the lock had ceased to work – its battery had died, apparently – so the door would not lock at all. That evening we had to change keycards again because a desk clerk thought we needed to change rooms and had locked us out. We think this was a sampling error; we would have no qualms about staying here again.
Pros: Central location; great pool.
Cons: Unusable wifi; high price.
