"Good Hotel in a Good Location."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 14, 2013
Nice modest hotel in a great location in Chamonix. The staff was accomodating - however appeared to be short staffed at the front desk a lot of times. But the one person that was there - did there best they could with all that was going on. The rooms were modestly decorated - but clean. Excellent location - in great walking distance to everything Chamonix. If you do not want to spend a lot of money on accomodations, I would recommend this hotel.
"Awesome Hotel!!!"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jan 28, 2013
Great hotel. Amazing location. Walking distance to anywhere in downtown Chamonix area. Very happy with our stay. My only complaint is that the building is not sound proofed very well. The loud clunking of ski boots in the AM was a little bothersome. But it acted as a good wake up call to get up and get out to ski some fresh pow. All in all, great place. I will most definitely be back.

Excellent location, convenient to town fo Chamonix, staff mostly very friendly and helpful. Close to the railroad station and bus depot, so it was very convenient to go the various sky areas.

This is not as much as a hotel as it is an apartment. Meaning no room service, no room cleaning. But loved it! Extremely good location, walking distance from tha bars, and the buses that take u to all the slopes right next to it:) the staff was very friendly! Just keep in mind that u r responsible for cleaning it all before you leave;)

"Chalet Les Frenes in Chamoix, France"Reviewed by Greg E of "Windsor, CO - USA" on Sep 27, 2011
The chalet is conveniently located just outside city limits for great mountain atmosphere and no city hassle. The chalet owners are friendly, helpful and provided excellent information for sightseeing. The breakfast was delicious and we were able to take some for a snack on a hike. I would highly recommend this chalet for an enjoyable visit.
"Good hotel in a potentially good location"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Apr 10, 2011
The Alpina is a great hotel if you come during the off-season, as the rates will be more in line with the quality of service. The rooms are excellent, with an amazing view of the mountain range. I have only been in the cool season, so I don't know if the room would get too hot in the summer (no air conditioning, as far as I could see). The location is convenient, as it is right next to one of the city bus stops, and meters away from the important walking streets in town. The location may be too close to the bars for some customers; I could often hear revelry at night. I liked the location, however, as it was within one or two minutes of excellent night-life locations. The staff was helpful and spoke English fluently, though make sure you get all costs up-front.
