"Horrible food"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Aug 23, 2012
I stayed at Royal Costa for two nights before the rest of my friends arrived. It was easily reachable from Malaga Airport with the train (C1 from "Aeropuerto" to "Los Álamos", direction "Fuengirola"; 5 min., € 1,60) I am an orienteerer, so I had planned to do some trail running, regular running and touring biking, but unfortunately the staff didn't know anything about this except that the he could tell me that the "locals" ran along the beach in the evening. Hence I spent the first night running to Torremolinos along the beach and into the city centre to find the tourist information (only open 9:30-13-ish). Very nice along the beach and a lot of other runners at different paces. I was quite pleased with the room itself: Decent view, good bathroom and standard equipped. The A/C was too cold, so I had to switch it off every now and then. The TV was very good as it had a lot of connection possibilities (eg. HDMI and USB). As a runner you would need sufficient nutrition of some sort in order to perform. The hotel could not meet that AT ALL. I only ate breakfast and dinner at the hotel, but both meals were horribly bad: Fat, greasy, non-local and a lot of quick carbs. It wasn't possible the eat anything satiating at the breakfast. I wouldn't recommend this hotel for an all-inclusive stay, as the food will ruin the experience if you would want to eat anything else than fries, sausages and ice cream!
"Great beach"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jul 4, 2012
This hotel is for people with children! The buffet was basically the same food everyday which got old. It was great for beach access!

"Clean but SMOkEY"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Very nice facility, Easy walking distance to beach, shops & restaurants. Bus stops close by for easy commute to Malaga. Hotel is very well run, but disappointed with SMOKEY bedroom after requesting a non-smoking room at the time of booking.
"Very convenient.Excelent price."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Apr 14, 2012
Hotel Zen is hard to find but once you arrive it is a lovely little hotel. Our room was rather small but the large balcony with a nice view made up for it!.The andalusian decor in the patio and common areas is lovely. The staff is very helpful. We had a nice breakfast for a very reasonable price. It is extremely convenient if you fly in or out of the airport in Malaga.
"Everything you need in a great location"Reviewed by Diane D of "Scranton, PA" on Mar 20, 2012
The room may be a little dated, but had everything we needed. It was clean and comfortable and in a great location. We were less then a 5 minute walk to dozens of shops, restaurants and, of course, the beach. Beautiful, wide, sandy beach. Would love to go back and stay longer.
"January 2012"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 4, 2012
Hotel is modest and a bit older. The rooms are currently being updated but mine was not done Right on the water, fab views, the staff were strong english speakers. The room had a small kitchen and private bath, all which was more than adequate. Clean. My only caution is that the population of this area in January is completely British pensioners. 70yo+ Just be prepared. A very strong value for the money.
