"good for a short stay"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 25, 2013
The hotel is located pretty close to Jaco beach. But their is a big hotel being constructed just next door and they start work at 6 am and till 5 pm. THERE IS THEREFORE A LOT OF CONSTRUCTION CREW AND NOISE. We informed the hotel, and they were sympathetic, but could not do anything about it. Most nights you can hear the traffic from the road as well as this is off main street. Rooms are spacious with hot water, a/c, wi-fi, but no soap, cutlery or glasses or cups. The best thing of the hotel was that they let you make free calls to US and Canada. The room phone was not working so we had to go to the main reception area for making calls. The main reception closes at 10 pm. convenient location,, clean with a pool and good for a short stay. BUT VERY VERY NOISY. the construction will go on till december 2013.

"Cute little place"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jan 25, 2013
I enjoyed our stay at La Palmera very much. It has a great pool area, the breakfast was always hot and tasty, and the staff was friendly. It was within walking distance to downtown Jaco and the beach there, and I would absolutely recommend it for those that plan to be out and about.

Worst hotel breakfast in our 5 different hotels in CR. It was white toast, coffee, and a small amount of fruit (not local, either). Good for surfers, ocean access is right on property. Nice to be away from the downtown and casinos. Room faced the road, but never noticed the noise. Very comfortable and quiet hotel.
"Beautiful Bahia Encantada"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Nov 26, 2012
Unit A-3 is a great location in this complex. The roof top balcony has beautiful views of sunsets, beaches and mountains! This property was in the north end of Jaco, but you can easily walk to many stores and restaurants. Clarita's bar next door is a little loud some nights, but if you like the bar scene and night life it's a very short walk. I would have rated it a 5 if Clarita's wasn't so loud.
"Great place right on the beach"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Nov 20, 2012
We stayed in a 2bdrm apt on the beach and it was beautiful The room was huge and the patio opened to the beach. It was the last hotel on the beach so it's quieter. The staff was very helpful too

Everything was good for the price. The only thing I didn't like was the exsessive noise for the casino next door.
"Private oasis"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Oct 3, 2012
Docelunas is set just outside of Jaco but has the feeling of being at a private resort in the middle of the rainforest. It is a beautiful setting, very secure and has everything you need. I walked to Jaco each day which took about 20 minutes each way, even though I had a rental car. You could also take a taxi for a couple of dollars if you do not like to walk and do not have transportation. Jaco is a noisy beach town with a lot of activity and I had fun there but liked being able to get away when I wanted to relax. The food at Docelunas is excellent, they have a great bar area, and the pool is huge and warm. It has free WiFi and everything is priced very reasonably. Even the minibar was inexpensive! If you want a secluded resort, close to everything, that does not nickle and dime you to death once you arrive, Docelunas is the place.
