"Helms Inn in Victoria - A+"Reviewed by Susan of "Toronto, Ontario, Canada" on Jan 30, 2012
Really enjoyed my stay at Helms Inn. Location was ideal - across from the park, walking distance to downtown, walking/hiking trails everywhere. Room was large, airy, comfortable - temperature easy to control. Staff was very helpful, and the cost was quite low. Washing machine and dryer available on premises were a bonus. I would recommend Helms Inn to anyone wanting to stay in Victoria.

Our stay in this hotel was quite comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to our friends when visiting the Victoria area. The staff was very friendly and courteous. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We did not eat at the local restaurant, so I cannot oomment about the quality of the food.
"First not perfect stay"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jan 28, 2012
We have stayed at this hotel before and find it great. I think this time we may have ended up with a Pet Friendly room (which was the throw off). It had an off smell to the room & due to medical issues my sense of smell is very sensitive. There were a few small issues but nothing that would turn me away from staying here again. I just know to ask for a pet free room next time. One amenity I miss in no microwave in the room.
"Central Victoria BC Hotel"Reviewed by Brigitte of "Nova Scotia" on Jan 28, 2012
Older hotel but comfortable. Kitchenette was great. Location is central as it is downtown and near inner harbor and other conveniences. Housekeeping staff were very attentive. Price is right.
"Queen Victoria Hotel"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jan 27, 2012
Very good location, very good and relatively inexpensive breakfast in their restaurant! I do think it's silly that they 'lock' the kitchen facilities in the rooms, and charge an additional charge. Even the mini fridge had a lock on it!
"Travel Lodge Vic, good local not far from downtown"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jan 26, 2012
The Travel Lodge of Victoria is a good place to stay. The hotel from the outside looks fine. The rooms are entered from the outside instead of a central hall way. If you do not required an adjoining room make sure you request that you do not get one. The adjoining door provides little sound insulation. The rooms have been updated. Beds and linens were new. Fridge, microwave, coffee maker and room-safe nice. We were in Victoria during a snow storm so it was cold and windy outside. The room was cool the HVAC unit was not really a heater, But the comforter on the bed was nice and warm. Would stay again.

"Chateau Victoria"Reviewed by Wayne of "Calgary" on Jan 24, 2012
I stayed at this hotel for a few days in February after having a horrible experience at another hotel that is under rennovation in Victoria. Immediately, I was taken by the friendliness and helpfulness of the front desk staff. The room was an eleventh floor, balconied paradise. It was clean, quiet, and at a very comfortable room temperature. I even had the pleasure of watching a sunrise one morning from the comfort of my balcony. I would say as a visitor to this city desiring a location that is right in the heart of downtown you really could not ask for a better place to stay.
"not informed of renovations"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jan 23, 2012
When I booked our stay with hotels.com, I was not informed that the hotel was going to be under renovations at the time of our stay. The hotel manager told me that he informed hotels.com of the pending rnovations. He did give us complimentary parking for our inconvenience (there were workmen on our balcony). Otherwise, it is a wonderful hotel and we will likely be returning. However, I am not impressed with hotels.com for not informing me of the renovations. It really spoiled our holiday.
