I love Victoria and love to stay at places that are close to the town, but not in the town. Pau's Motor Inn was a great surprise! Clean, friendly, convenient, and great food in the restaurant. I especially liked the wonderful people that work there. They were all courteous and informative.

Surprisingly good. The hotel was clean, in good order, easy to access, had a free parking lot across the street--not a minor issue in some Canadian towns, located in an interesting area i.e. Chinatown. The room was very comfortable with abundant towels, soap, lotion. It was excellent value for money substantially less than other hotels of a similar category or location. The only fault, which is no fault of the hotel is that it is not really within walking distance of the inner harbor area. But is definitely within 3/5 minutes driving to the same.

All of the staff were very kind. Cameron was especially patient with our many questions and was very helpful regarding places of interest around Victoria. The hotel is historical and quaint and contributed to the Victorian experience, but our room was not fancy. It was very small, but the boutique room we looked at was not that much better to justify more $$ per night, so we opted to stay in our original room. Seagulls flying by and yelping woke me up at 4am every morning so earplugs may have been a good idea. We were able to manage well without a car, but did rent a car one day to drive up the west coast. The breakfast was awesome! Plus, I loved having the choice of whole grains. Overall, I thought the price was too high for what we got, but that is the trend in Victoria. I won't go back to Victoria for that reason alone.
