We had a great quick Xmas family get away, we enjoyed our stay and felt very relaxed. But in saying that there were hairs in our room and bathroom, the windows were dirty as were the mirrors, we have our own cleaning business in Byron and this is why we noticed. Also the biggest disappointment was when we noticed that the bed was 2 singles pushed together, where the room was advertised as a king bed - not 2 beds pushed together and also there was no toilet brush in bathroom. We decided to forget about these things and not complain when we were there and just enjoy our holiday. Which we did.

My wife and I really enjoyed this Holiday Inn. It’s location is perfect…Walking distance to everything but just out from downtown for a quieter room. Nice ocean views! ½ block from ocean beach and bus stop to go visit other beach towns on the coast! Staff was great! They put us up higher (17th floor)to be away from the Schoolies who we coming for spring break during the last couple nights of our 6 days there. The Schoolies were a non even at the hotel…but very busy downtown. Might have been the best all around hotel for us in our two weeks in AUS!

Q1 was a great hotel. Friendly staff, clean well-appointed rooms that were relatively sound-proof and close to all needed amenities. The pools were huge and a provided a lovely place to laze around and the cafe overlooking the pool was well-priced with good quality food. Although Q1 doesn't have its own restaurant, we found plenty of good quality restaurants in close proximity. The Q1 bar was a great too - great at sunset, although it would have been nice to have one free entry for being a hotel guest, but as a once-off, it was worth the entry cost. We had a great stay.
