"Ignore poor reviews..."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 9, 2013
Read a few poor reviews ahead of stay.Stayed 5 nights with no problems.Location isnt downtown. Its halfway between CBD and St.Kilda area but I knew that beforehand.Nice area across from huge park.7-11 is only a block behind hotel.Staff and accommodations were both fine.Only complaint is ridiculous internet charges.
"Comfortable & Convenient"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jan 29, 2013
The room was a great size with a lovely little balcony. It was not far from the main st in St Kilda, convenient location. I do believe the street can get a bit sleezy but we saw none of that. The only problem was the room smelled of smoke. Someone before us most likely smoked on the balcony but the scent wafted in. Other than that the room was kept very clean and was great value for money.
"What you want in a hotel away from home"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Dec 8, 2012
Friendly staff, comfortable breakfast area, good location Rooms come with kitchen amenties, which was unexpected but appreciated. Very much enjoyed my stay. For the record, hotel is NOT that hard to find, as some reviews had led me to believe. I would stay again next time in Melbourne.
"Nice hotel if only it was closer to the CBD"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Oct 3, 2012
The overall hotel is great with awesome facilities. The room itself is super clean and tidy. The only problem for us is that it is quite far considering walking to the CBD.

"Hotel mercies Melbourne Australia"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jan 2, 2012
Excellent stay. I would stay at this hotel again if I could park at the hotel car park instead of Wilsons parking.
"Jasper hotel"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Dec 15, 2011
I spent 3 nights at Jasper hotel and really enjoyed it. The hotel is very nice and I liked its modern stile. The room was clean and really comfortable and the staff at the reception was great. I needed to book a couple of tours and fix a couple of things with my transportation and the lady at the reception spent more than 1h to help me. Furthermore, while I was out of the hotel she called on my behalf to get the confirmations that everything was set up and once I was back I had all the paperwork ready. The location is beside the Victoria market, which is a perfect place to get some food for the day, and it is at 10 min walking distance from the CBD. It was perfect for my short 4 days stay.
"Wonderful, Wonderful Stay"Reviewed by Michelle MG of "Guilderland, NY" on Jul 12, 2011
I had two reservations - one for City Edge for two days so I could explore the city, and one for a so-called more upscale hotel for 3 days since I had to attend a conference at the latter. I was more satisfied with my stay at CE that at the so-called upscale hotel. The apartment was clean, nicely decorated and had all the ammenities to make staying there not only coomfortable but downright relaxing. Moreover, the hotel is right in the city center so it was easy to access shopping and dining areas as well as explore key landmarks. I found I was longing for City Edge after I check in to the other hotel in Richmond. I expected a hotel priced at half that of a 5-star hotel to be just livable, but it was great! Kudos!
"Excellent apartment hotel"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jun 24, 2011
The Punthill Bourke has much to recommend it and little that doesn't. We had a spacious, clean, and altogether useful apartment--the one-bedroom "Spa" apartment--which provided a separate sleeping area with ample closet space, a usable kitchen with 2 burners, a convection oven, pots and pans and plenty of dinnerware, and a living-room area with a desk and coffee table. The only thing missing was a table to eat on (apart from the coffee table) but since we had little reason to eat in (apart from breakfast), there was not much to complain about. The Bourke is in the midst of Melbourne's Chinatown, which is lively (though not especially noisy) and filled with good restaurants. In fact, there are great restaurants all over Melbourne's downtown. All in all, an excellent deal.
